Sen. Mary Landrieu (D., La.), an ObamaCare voter running for re-election in a conservative state, has to this point shown remarkable political resilience. But a new Fox News poll suggests that her days in the Senate may be drawing to a close. The survey of 617 likely voters in Louisiana shows Rep. Bill Cassidy (R., La.) leading Ms. Landrieu by 13 percentage points.

The telephone poll, conducted Sept. 14-16, finds that 51% of Louisiana voters prefer Mr. Cassidy as their next senator, versus 38% who favor the incumbent.

This may be the result of blistering recent television ads showing the deep roots Ms. Landrieu has planted as a longtime

The Loiusiana democrat party is historically one of the most corrupt in the nation. I witnessed Edwin Edwards get elected 4 times. The say “fool me twice, same on me”, well what do you say to idiots who get fooled 4 times?

Maness is not gonna overtake Cassidy and heaven forbid he does because ML’s odds of winning a runoff over him are higher, possibly much higher.

He should not be running, LA is not the state to have more than 1 candidate. Cassidy is not a RINO, he much greater resources, Maness is a non-entity. To me the choice is clear, ridiculously clear to be quite frank.

I hope this poll is accurate.

Somehow though Maness must think he can do what was not done this year in Republican primaries in TX, SC, TN, KY, MS, and KS.

The “popular”, as they say, 87-year-old Edwards is still on the ballot for the 6th congressional district, based about his home in Gonzales, south of Baton Rouge.

Except that Cassidy isn’t a RINO.

It ought to be Jeff Landry running. Cassidy remains a disappointment and will be much closer to the McConnell wing than the Cruz wing in the Senate. That’s why I will continue to support Maness.

Landry is running for attorney general in 2015 against incumbent Buddy Caldwell.1

Odd choice of office to run for. Attorney General is a dead-end job in LA. Perhaps he should offer himself up to David Vitter to appoint him to his Senate seat if he moves over to Governor. I’m actually torn on that, I’d rather Vitter remain in DC, the reason why I’d endorse Jay Dardenne over him.

I believe Claitor is more conservative than Dardenne. Cassidy and then Claitor succeeded Dardenne in the state Senate. Treasurer John Kennedy would be better fiscally than Dardenne for governor.
