Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison, who represents a sizable Muslim community in his Minneapolis district, has a message for Obama administration officials: Work with the locals during this time of unrest in the Middle East.
“The most important thing to understand about the Islamic community in Minnesota is it sees itself as part of Minnesota,” said Ellison, who was the first Muslim to be elected to Congress. “We need to work with the local community and build trust with the local community … so it’s important to monitor web traffic and also to engage with the local community in countering violent extremism. This is an important thing to do. … At the end of the day [ISIL] is messaging to the world.”
In light of increased recruitment in the United States and Europe by the Islamic terrorist organization ISIL, Obama administration officials say they are stepping up engagement to Muslim communities across the United States — including Minnesota — to get them to speak up if they see radicalization taking place.

Ellison sponsors the Congressional Muslim Staff Association which has brought radicals and terrorists such as Anwar al-Awlaki into the Capitol.

The muslims see themselves as part of the Minnesota community? Tonight the wife and I went to the Houston Symphony. They have a new director from Columbia. About 90% of the audience was Hispanic. One person was waiving a Mexican flag. I don’t think they consider themselves a part of the community.
My wife pointed out that we bend over backwards to make sure they don’t have to accept our culture.
We left after four songs. I didn’t feel like I was in America.
Gee, what about separation of church and state the liberals are always talking about.. Must not apply to Islam. Muslims have to get their own house in order and condemn these radicals and expell them from their mosques. I have been waiting for this to happen for 13 years and I doubt it ever will.
