In a televised address on how to address the Islamic State this evening, President Barack Obama declared the organization variously known as ISIS or ISIL to be “not Islamic.”
In making this preposterous claim, Obama joins his two immediate predecessors in pronouncing on what is not Islamic. Bill Clinton called the Taliban treatment of women and children “a terrible perversion of Islam.” George W. Bush deemed that 9/11 and other acts of violence against innocents “violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.”
None of the three has any basis for such assertions. To state the obvious: As non-Muslims and politicians, rather than Muslims and scholars, they are in no position to declare what is Islamic and what is not. As Bernard Lewis, a leading American authority of Islam, notes: “It is surely presumptuous for those who are not Muslims to say what is orthodox and what is heretical in Islam.”

What I find skitzoid about the denials that the Islamic State (ISIS) is operating on behalf if Islam, is that nothing it has done has been outside the scope of what is done in the name if Islam all the time in other nations.
Beheadings
Stonings
Mass murder
Communal graves
Killing women for being raped
Causing women to call their husbands a brother once their father-in-law has raped them
The mutilation of women’s sex organs
The beating or stoning for not keeping their face covered
The selling or even gifting of single digit aged girls into marriage with old men
The teaching of young single digit children to hate Jews
Why it’s all in the name of Islam everwhere else. Why isn’t it in the name of Islam when ISIS does it?
Islam is not a religion. This is often said. After giving it thought, I think it’s more like a death cult. The only difference between the different sects, is who they sanction to carry out all the above.
If the leaders of your sect didn’t sanction the devil’s work, then it’s not in the name of Islam. If you sanction the devil’s work, it’s in the name of Islam. Strangely enough, ISIS is trying to take over a massive part of Islam. Evidently they don’t think the other sects of Islam are acting on behalf of Islam either. Notice the wonderful symmetry that is Islam.
Each Islamic adherent knows they follow the teachings of Islam, and at the same time they know nobody else does. And yet, they all do the same things.
What a marvelous pretend religion. Compassion? No. Respect for life? No. Mutilation? Yes Mass murdering of the innocent? Yes The ravaging of young children? Yes The theft of innocence? Of course, by all means. Allah be praised.
Death to the infidels indeed...
Trouble is, the infidels are running the asylum.

Reminded me of the 1980 Presidential debate when Gerald Ford said—repeatedly—that “Eastern Europe is not under Soviet domination”.
Obozo envisions a more wonderful caliphate and he just wants these OTHER terrorists to stop making it hard for him to help that happen.
If there was one soundbite that people will remember from his speech, this was it. It was so absurd nobody believes him. In fact, it came across like another Obamacare lie.
This statement was a PR disaster for him.
Two of the most moderate and “tolerant” Islamic nations are Malaysia and Indonesia. Malaysia is involved in harboring the Islamists who attack Southern Thailand, in attacking and burning Christian churches, and attacking Chinese Daoists. The Bali bombing, church burnings and frequent riots are part of Indonesia. As long as Islam is there the very real potential for large scale radicalism exists. America is not immune to this even though the Muslim population here is relatively small.
Big difference, you'll see Christian churches and other Christians come together to denounce the KKK whenever they show up to stage a rally. They may call themselves Christian but only they and the hard left believe they're Christian.
OTOH, how many mosques or groups like CAIR denounce ISIS??? Our muslim president even denies they're islamic and says they're just a JV squad, no big deal.
He made that comment in a debate, and I believe the nation was Poland.
To this day I can’t imagine him being that out of touch with reality on the issue.
In the most headed era of the cold war, and he didn’t gasp the concept of the Iron Curtain.
Had he ever heard the term before? Did he understand what it was in reference to? Very strange!

He was saying no more or less than Bush when he kept repeating his Religion of Peace BS.
Recall his quote “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” - Barack Hussein Obama .

Its quite amusing to watch Obama being forced to deal with the brutality and fanaticism of an Islamic group since he obviously has a deeply sympthetic passion for that religion. At the same time, they are forcing him into expanding the use of U.S. military power, something he clearly loathes. He is really between a rock and a hard place.
So why does the writer think this precludes Obama from making his statement?
True, but Bush didn’t have a history of lying and deceit like Obama does. I believe Bush was naive whereas Obama is just a liar.

or it is deception.
As long as the founder of your church married and had sex with a 9 year old girl, that’s a roles model for everybody else. And it should be condemned and recognized by all others.
