GENEVA, Sept 8 (Reuters) - The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially in Liberia, where many thousands of new cases expected over the coming three weeks, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Monday. In a statement, the WHO said that motorbike-taxis and regular taxis are "a hot source of potential virus transmission" in Liberia where conventional Ebola control interventions "are not having an adequate impact". The United Nations agency said that aid partners need to scale-up current efforts against Ebola by three-to-four fold in Liberia and elsewhere in West Africa. In Liberia it had killed 1,089 people among 1,871 cases, according to the WHO's update of last Friday.

“In a statement, the WHO said that motorbike-taxis and regular taxis are “a hot source of potential virus transmission” in Liberia where conventional Ebola control interventions “are not having an adequate impact”.”
I’m sure it won’t be a problem here if it gets in the public transportation system. After all, we don’t have sex with dead bodies or anything like that /s.
They’re admitting it’s transmissible via casual contact from public transportation...
Sounds like the old assumptions about transmission and safety need a little revision, or two.
If you can catch it from a taxi ride, then the old “very close and personal contact” rubric is not operable.
Ping to you too.
“Theyre admitting its transmissible via casual contact from public transportation...”
Stop all flights out of the area, secure the dock areas against people leaving by sea, lock it down.
If ONE case gets traced to traveling by air, the airline market will collapse anyway.
If it’s transmissible via public transportation, the airlines are at huge liability risk.
Not sure how their insurance underwriters would react to this.
‘If ONE case gets traced to traveling by air, the airline market will collapse anyway.”
our elected officials, and the media are not to tell you the truth....when your friends start to die off, you can take that as signal
We are told that the only way to spread Ebola is with contact with bodily fluids. If that is the case, how can is spread so rapidly? Is there something our government is not telling us???
Wonder if something along these lines are being planned, by design, for the US Military helping out.
Perfect for subways and jetliners.
