According to Richard Dumbka, if a husband and wife both have non-union jobs they aren’t a “working family.” The elitist, exclusionary and divisive fool has spoken.

I think it’s time to start honoring the guys with the little food carts and roach coaches.

What BS, all the criminal Trumka can see is dollar signs from increased union dues due to union wages forced higher by a rising minimum wage.

Arrested a few protesters in Pittsburgh for blocking traffic. They’ll probably be let go, if they haven’t been already.

One guy complained that he has been working at McDonald’s for 30 years and hasn’t had a raise in 20 years.

Twit. If he wasn’t being paid well, why didn’t he find a better paying job in all these years?

Remember Schlitz Brewery workers went out on strike. The management closed the brewery down in Milwaukee. How did that work out. Fast food restaurant workers strike - gee some people lost some weight today. But the strike has nothing to do with the issue it is to be unionized. How has that worked out here in America.

If these bozos were successful in getting a $15 minimum wage I wonder if they realize that this would drastically improve the business case for robotization of the fast food industry. The technology exists although admittedly still new. But robotization is where this is going without or without a minimum wage increase. Their efforts will just speed it up as well as their unemployment.

Members of the AFL-CIO should be executed for treason. If you want to look at the wellspring of Communism, look no further than a union in bed with Big Government.

I saw the advance hype, but I passed a number of fast food places (Chicago suburbs) today, and saw no sign of anything going on.

Maybe downtown?

“courage”? It takes courage to strike because you want more money? I don’t see that as courage. I see people that want everyone else to pay them more because they don’t have any qualifications to do anything else.

Trumpka should be embarrassed....the AFL - CIO needed entry level fast food workers as fooder for his thug union...

Basically exploiting them to continue to line is own pockets...

At the end of the day....fast food will automate....shed lots of non skilled workers and china will be happy to build all those new touch screen menu boards to order...

Pretty damn hard to unionize a touch screen and maybe Trumpka can visit china and try to unionize those folks...lol

Hey Richard, let’s say you get your $15 and hour and I’m working at some fast food place making $15 an hour. But I’m pretty sharp, bust my ass and over two years I manage to get raises to $17 an hour.

Then the minimum wage is raised to $17 an hour. Now rookies are making the same as me. My two years of busting my ass is for naught.

Have you ever thought about this Richard?

And what about the business owner (without whom your union would cease to exist overnight)? Jumping a person who is making, say, $8 per hour to making $15 an hour does not make that employee worth almost 100% more than they were.

The “minimum wage” is 100% artificial and is not based in economic reality.
