President Obama urged West Africans in areas affected by the Ebola virus not to touch the corpses of loved ones who had succumbed to the deadly disease in a public service announcement released by the State Department on Tuesday.
"When burying someone who has died from this terrible disease, it's important to not directly touch their body," Obama says. "You can respect your traditions and honor your loved ones without risking the lives of the living."

I actually thought this was pretty good, and I am the biggest Obama critic I know. It was simple, one point only, and a direct instruction. I’m assuming Frieden helped him select the one simple sentence that will do the most to stop this plague.
Can you imagine what the media would be saying if George Bush said this....

Just imagine if he showed that much concern for the well being of Americans.

I realized years ago, when reading about AIDS transmission in Africa, that they cannot be helped.
They are told not to engage in anal sex, yet they continue. They are told to use the free condoms they are given, yet they don’t. They witness people dying of AIDS continually around them, yet they make no connection to the behavior they are told causes it and to those deaths.
Why would Ebola be any different? Ebola is not likely to be a pandemic outside of Africa, but in Africa it could be.
