The Obama administration did not know ahead of time about the highly unusual military intervention . Thats how the Washington Post describes a recent series of airstrikes in the Libyan capital of Tripoli by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The secret attacks, according to the New York Times, were aimed at Islamist-allied militias battling for control of Tripoli; and they represent a major escalation of a regional power struggle set off by Arab Spring revolts.
In what could be a sign of increasingly strained international relations, the Times also reports:
The United States, the officials said, was caught by surprise: Egypt and the Emirates, both close allies and military partners, acted without informing Washington, leaving the Obama administration on the sidelines.
Some observers note that both the UAE and Egypt appear to be doing more to combat the rise of Islamist extremism than the United States.

Well, he said he wanted to lead from behind. He got his wish.
So they finally figured out that Obama is not someone you want to share secrets about covert operations with..... unless you want an ambush/setup waiting for you. About damned time.
Like the rest of us, they too know that odumbo is a “muslime” and will no longer share their intent with them. If We American’s don’t trust the bastard child, why do we think foreign governments would? He has set the once great America way behind in world respect. He’s such a loser! Thanks to all the liberal no minds who voted for him.

When you know that your “partner” is a snitch, what else can you do?

Exactly right!
under obama we’re just a poser on the intl stage.
there’s no secure phone on the 11th hole.
He was so mad he FOUR-putted.
I’m really fed up with these “teaser” headlines. It started with videos: “You’ll Use Up a Whole Box of Kleenex When You See What This Vet’s Hometown Did for Him,” etc.
Now it has spread everywhere, including news stories. Headlines used to tell you what the story was about. They would even tell you the most important fact in the story. Now they tell you how you’ll feel.
You and I are paying for that. Changing it. May take hundreds of years.
I guess so, except that they're bombing his Islamic bros.
Don tell the magic negro anything or he’ll tell his mooselimb brotherhood handlers before it can get done.
So it’s a case of, “Nobody bombs my bros but me?”
“Don’t drone me, bro!”
Really late to this party but just wanted to say I see this as a positive.
About time some others with skin in the game took some responsibility.
I expect, however, that Egypt and UAE did give the White House a heads up. About five minutes before bombing began. That way, Washington would have been told, but not have enough time to react.
