According to a new Sunday Times report by Toby Harden, "Pentagon sources said Foley and the others might well have been rescued but Obama, concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria, took too long to authorise the mission."
It's claimed that Obama was concerned about his administration being Carterized had the mission failed.

Obama's policy of supporting "friendly rebels" to topple Assad was always a really dumb idea. I wonder if Obama could've backed off from this horrendous policy disaster and worked with Assad to free hostages. That would involve changing sides.
Is what happened that Obama is too arrogant to back off from his decisions? Because that's what we've seen with his horrendous domestic policies.

It’s a lot easier to believe another explanation—that the administration sympathizes with isis.

He delayed the mission until July 4th so he could politicize the rescue attempt, whether successful or not.

To this day I am convinced the Navy took matters into their own hands when they rescued Captain Phillips. Obama is NO different now than he was then; incompetent and an incapable CinC. The empty suit is only geared for one thing, agitation as that is all he has known and was groomed for; community organizing. He was the perfect pick for the ones above him pulling the strings. This idjit tacitly takes his jabs at America to be sure but the real damage being done by this mouth piece is as he dangles at the end of the strings of the puppet masters' who are looking to end us.
Remember to take names now (and not just democrats) because when the American experiment is brought to an end, so should the names on the list wherever you find them.

I saw in our paper that The One is going to Charlotte on Tuesday. I think it would be a great idea for a few Southeastern FReepers to show up - golf balls in hand. Nothing like throwing them at him, but tossing them on to the stage or dropping them on the sidewalk as he is entering or leaving the building - or maybe we could gift wrap them and ask if we could present him with a gift. Clearly with all of the golfing that he is doing, he could use some more ammo, so to speak.

I would not be surprised if this was the same mind-set during the attack on Benghazi. After all, he had an election to win and he had an image and narrative to keep.
Thanks dems, moderates, and libtards for bringing us such incompetence.

What has he done that has not been a complete fiasco? Foreign or domestic.
