The Pentagon said Friday that a Chinese fighter jet made “several passes” by a U.S. Navy aircraft earlier this week off the coast of China in international airspace, baring its weapons and coming within mere feet of the U.S. plane.

Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said...“Not only is it unprofessional, it’s unsafe,” Kirby said.

Maybe, and we either develop more stand-off means of doing these missions, or issue death sentences to the aircrew by not allowing them to land a stricken aircraft anywhere near Chinese territory as happened at Hainan Island. Or, in a perfect world we could shoot some Chinese down for a change!

Technologically,there is NO reason that sidewinders or for that matter AMMRAM’s on a jet of that size.

I just think that they don’t arm them so that our potential enemies don’t consider them to be a threat.
