More and more we're hearing about various members of the media ceasing to use the name "Redskins." In perhaps the biggest deal yet, the Washington Post announced Friday the editorial board would cease using the team's nickname.
"While we wait for the NFL to catch up with public opinion and common decency we have decided not to use the slur ourselves except when it is essential for clarity or effect," said a statement on the paper's own site.
Worth noting: this doesn't affect the actual paper. The news-gathering side of the business can -- and will as we understand it -- continue to use the name of the team throughout work.

I am offended by the word “Washington” when it is reference to the District of Criminals.
Waiting for the NFL to catch up with public opinion??? All polls I have seen show strong support for keeping the Redskins name. Are these liberals deluded as to what the public really thinks about this issue??? Do liberals just talk to each other and reinforce each other’s liberal opinion, then assume that the rest of the world is liberal on this issue???

when their reporters show up after the game, they should be notified they are not recognized as reporters from the Washington Post as they consider them from the Post now.
The Redskin’s management should refuse to use the term “Washington Post” on press passes because it is offensive that they call themselves journalists.

We immediately begin a campaign to get the Post to remove the name Washington from it’s name, because it was taken on without permission, and it is demeaning.
All we need to do is find one or two Conservative Washington decendents, and we’ve got as good a case as the “Redskin” phobes have.

Fine, but now I think it is time for the NFL to be racially correct. Since blacks are only 12.6% of the population I immediately demand that that number is reflected in the rosters. If they want to be PC then be PC all the way and quit cherry picking. That means on a 53 man roster only 7 can be black. Change now!
Should send emails to them with just the word “Redskins” Redskins” Redskins” over and over.
