I want to make sure after yesterday’s post that everyone knows it’s still in dispute whether Wilson’s eye socket was actually fractured in his altercation with Michael Brown.
What’s apparently not in dispute is that Wilson somehow emerged from the incident with part of his face swollen.
Reports that Ofc Darren Wilson had a bruised or fractured eye socket are false. #ferguson A source close to the investigation tells CNN

Wilson was taken to the hospital after the shooting. He had xrays which came back negative. He was treated for a swollen face. #ferguson

The extent of the injury matters insofar as the worse it is, the stronger Wilson’s defense will be that he reasonably feared serious injury from Brown when he allegedly charged at him. But it probably doesn’t matter that much: Obviously, the complexion of a case in which an unarmed man is shot dead changes if the defendant was attacked just moments before, especially if that attack involved going for the defendant’s gun. If the victim’s intent to harm is proved, establishing that Wilson’s fear of Brown was reasonable, then he’s one-third of the way to self-defense. He’d also have to show that Brown was advancing on him, a claim the prosecution will try to disprove, and further that Brown was so dangerous that Wilson was justified in using lethal force in bringing him down. Not an easy task given that Brown had no weapon of his own, but then that’s why the injury is important.

Simple, you're running on pure adrenaline and your mind will take over the good eye that is still functioning........And as a side note, if it wasn't his dominant eye, he wouldn't have even noticed........
Next question?
I really like the lie that Darren Wilson was pulling fatass Michael Brown into his vehicle.
I witnessed a fellow softball player get nailed by a line drive and ended up with that very scenario.........fully functional but in serious condition.
I haven’t read the comments, but this really pissed me off:
“If the victims intent to harm is proved, establishing that Wilsons fear of Brown was reasonable, then hes one-third of the way to self-defense. Hed also have to show that Brown was advancing on him, a claim the prosecution will try to disprove, and further that Brown was so dangerous that Wilson was justified in using lethal force in bringing him down.”
I don’t know Missouri law, but I thought it was up to the prosecutor to prove someone GUILTY, not the accused job to prove his innocence!
I thought the prosecutor would have to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that
A) Wilson had no reason to fear Brown’s intentions,
B) Brown had surrendered and was waiting to be cuffed, and
C) That Brown was so weak and helpless that Wilson could not have believed a threat existed.
Given the robbery video, those would be tough to prove to a jury with me on it!
-——One thing didnt make sense. How could you shoot someone six times after they damaged your eye socket? ——
That’s why God gave you two of them....
You can still shoot someone with only one eye....
Maybe that’s why he missed hitting him in center mass and shot his arm 4 times...
If you look at the autopsy diagram you’ll see shots all over his body. The damaged eye socket caused double vision. Only reason he was shot in the head was he was just about on top of the cop.
I was gonna pipe in but I see you got it covered.
:-)
That's what I was thinking. That's a serious injury. He still hit him 6 times, too. Not saying it's impossible, but, I don't know...
You need to google the 21 foot rule.
A source close to my cats said that Julian Cummings is an ahole. My cats never lie, except when they are sleeping.
Aholes lie so maybe Cummings is really a cat, aka a leftist pussy. Meow!

The Gateway Pundit can now confirm from two local St. Louis sources that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown. Officer Wilson clearly feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting death of Brown. This was after Michael Brown and his accomplice Dorian Johnson robbed a local Ferguson convenience store.
Gateway pundit needs to out whoever gave them this story.
Whether the officer’s skull was fractured or not is beside the point. Large thug punches someone in the eye and then tries to take a weapon could result in justified deadly force in retaliation.
I’ve been worried about this. People keep saying it’s true but never provide a source. Please, if you know anything, provide a source. Else we’re in deep doo doo.
THAT would be too helpful to the situation, I guess, and it has me concerned.
Coming from a pal of Officer Williams, alone, in the total absence of official confirmation does not a case make. Fractures of any kind should rate a confirmation or denial, if not part of a preliminary report.
But you can’t talk about Ferguson or what happened in school.
I guess some people don’t understand putting a <sarcasm off with a statement when they are being facetious.
It wouldn’t matter if Brown had killed a cop, they would still think he shouldn’t be shot. In their view, they are allowed to do anything to anyone without being held responsible in any way.
There have been numerous cases where a store owner shot an armed robber and the family of the slain “teen” was outraged and said the thug was murdered. They feel entitled to take whatever they want.
A blow out fx doesn’t leave you blind in that eye. Frequently it causes double vision, but not always. Not inconsistent with shooting someone at relatively close range.
