A police officer who pointed an assault rifle at people in Ferguson on Tuesday night and threatened to kill them has been relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely, authorities said.
A video documenting the encounter (warning: graphic language) that made the rounds Wednesday showed the officer who was pointing his rifle in the direction of the camera telling protesters, I will [expletive] kill you. When asked for his name, the officer responded with, Go [expletive] yourself.

On to diversity training I s’pose!
Ping!
Not excuses, just explanations:
1) One of his own has been tried and found guilty in the media, the mob, and DOJ.
2) NBLP and others have been publishing hit lists with LEO’s home addresses.
3) 12 hour shifts take a toll.
Interesting that such did not happen in Mass. when the search for the Marathon bombers was in full swing.
Of course, there may not have been any words spoken, but make no mistake, those “officers” were pointing their weapons directly at civilians and although specific demands were likely made, they are not as easily recalled in the public sector that I’m aware of, and I could be distinctly wrong in that belief.
Imagine if a protestor pointed an assault rifle at cop and said, “I will [expletive] kill you.”
When I watched the video, I felt sorry for the cop. He didn’t do anything that I wouldn’t have done under similar provocation. I cannot imagine what it is like dealing with those assholes all night long...
The officer has been suspended and may face charges.
At least he didn't point a rape rifle or a arson rifle at that poor little protestor.
And everything on tape.
I’d get sick of ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ hour after hour, days on end. But I lack the patience to be the police and don’t want to risk my life daily. Props to those who can keep it together and do that gig.
The video I saw wasn’t the highest quality, but it looked to me like his finger was along the trigger guard, not on the trigger. If so, the buttwipe protestors were in no danger. I see no reason to coddle adults who are out at night forcing riot control police to waste my money trying to keep some order.
The cop wasn’t nice to them...so what? They were assholes, and the world would be a better place if some of those assholes got their butts whipped. They are NOT freedom fighters. Just wannabe punks.
good, his behavior was extremely unprofessional
It does not appear that the protester was looting or attempting to assault anyone.
If that is the case, the officer was way out of line.
He will likely be subject to the laws that would apply to you or I if we were to point a gun at someone and say, “I will expletive kill you.”
Wait. Are you saying I shouldn’t do that to folks? : )
The cops were trying to get the crowd to move to a different location. Taken in context, the cops words were no more meaningful than mine when I’ve said I was going to kill someone. If the cop meant it, videoprick would be dead already.
Sorry, but I’m all out of sympathy for wannabes running around Ferguson trying to identify with black thug criminals at night. I’d vote to shoot a dozen just so this crap will end.
Not to excuse this but when you have been working this scene for the last ten days 12 to 16 hours a pop, and then get someones urine or feces thrown on you, well you might just say something untoward...
But that’s not what happened..
“Taken in context, the cops words were no more meaningful than mine when Ive said I was going to kill someone.”
How many times have you pointed a gun at someone and said. “I’m going to kill you?”
His chief said so and I know his chief to be a standup guy. And yes, officers are up on that line 12-16 hours. How do I know?
I pulled a few shifts.
I know a couple Detroit Police...they tell me the stuff they go thru, walking up on cars they pull over, on streets that have no streetlights, that are completely dark at 3 a.m....they really don’t make that much money either....no thx
