Workers at a state-of-the-art solar plant in the Mojave Desert have a name for birds that fly through the plant's concentrated sun rays "streamers," for the smoke plume that comes from birds that ignite in midair.
Federal wildlife investigators who visited the BrightSource Energy plant last year and watched as birds burned and fell, reporting an average of one "streamer" every two minutes,
--SNIP-- The bird kills mark the latest instance in which the quest for clean energy sometimes has inadvertent environmental harm. Solar farms have been criticized for their impacts on desert tortoises, and wind farms have killed birds, including numerous raptors.

Archimedean Death Ray!
“On our way to building a better Death Star, today!”
Mr. Spock would be so proud.
Whoops! If forgot communists destroy never work for improvements.
It’s called, “collateral damage”.
It’s acceptable if the greater good is served.
Millions will die, and millions will suffer. All for the greater good.
So, what about the birds, and the turtles? The agenda is more important, and they can’t be allowed to interfere with that agenda.
GanGreen strikes again..
From Drakes Bay oysters to desert tortoises
From windmills off Hyannisport to ‘streamers’ in the sky
If it makes the Greenies money, they’re for it.
No matter who else pays or dies.
Looks like it got your “r” as well!
The “greater good”, in all of these projects, is “liberal self righteousness”.
Ecotopia Fried Chicken!
Yeah, but the owners are DNC big donors, so it’s okay.
Our chef has prepared a special for today, Braised California Streamer, in a white wine reduction, with Yukon gold potatoes and asparagus tips.
This rare (now) flightless bird has first been, as our chef says “seared mid-flight it’s so fresh”. We think you’ll enjoy this limited treat.
Note, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to promote alternative, alternative power sources. Ones that THIS time, they promise won’t harm the environment. ( at least not as noticeably as this )
LOL!!
Braised California Condor.
It’s only endangered if we say it is.
Sooty Owl Appetizer.
Eye opening eagle over easy.
Just where the econut groups (peta, audubon, wwf, friends
of aminals and so forth)? Crickets... Hypocrites.
Eat it while it’s hot!
Add a windmill if you want chicken nuggets.
Add so much to the phrase being backwards and has become for the birds ... ‘Burn and Crash’ instead of Crash and Burn. Does peta know yet?
Audubon claims they're against it in the form of "sternly worded letters." That's all they could muster. Hypocrites, is right.
Just thought of a new bumper sticker these econuts can put on their Volvo:
SAVE THE PLANET...FROM BIRDS!
