WASHINGTON President Obama said on Saturday that the airstrikes and humanitarian assistance drops he ordered last week in Iraq could go on for months, preparing Americans for an extended military presence in the skies there as Iraqs leaders try to build a new government.
I dont think were going to solve this problem in weeks, Mr. Obama told reporters before leaving for a two-week golf-and-beach vacation on Marthas Vineyard. This is going to be a long-term project.
The president repeated his insistence that his administration would not send ground troops back to Iraq after ending an unpopular, decade-long war and withdrawing the last troops in 2011. But two days after emphasizing the limited scope of the mission in a White House address, he pledged that the United States would stand with Iraq if it could form a unified and inclusive government to counter the Sunni militants who threaten its future.

The best I can come up with is he thinks that a CIC involved in a foreign engagement is less likely to be impeached.
I never served in the Army, but even I know that you don’t control it and own it until you put boots on the ground, no matter how high you make the rubble bounce.
He’s going to finish at the lowest popularity IN ALL US HISTORY..!!!
Oh wow, Jimmy Carter must be singing Zippity Doo-Dah..!
remember the days of Nobel Peace and how he was a savior to the world after Bush , and the liberals loved loved it?
Yea , how weird those same liberals still love him and make excuses for his killings

What about the people on the mountain? Any plans for them Obammy?
Bump.
Sounds like a quagmire, to me.

I work with a bunch of LibTards here in, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan.’

Don’t count Jimmy out. He’s still trying to stay in the game, even though it isn’t personally still scheduling the tennis court at the White House. His views on Israel and overseeing elections around the world (especially in corrupt nations) keeps him in contention — and away from his wife and Plains GA.
Bammy’s ‘unjust war’.... cricket chirps from liberals.
Damn the one or two bombs being dropped, they need to be sending an armada of air craft and target every ISIS position at once!
