I have a question, WaPo...why does Africa get $30+ billion from the US taxpayer to fix its health care system, while only half that goes to fix the freakin' VA health care system?!?
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Two people vs thousands and only a couple of serum’s available that were developed here in the States? So who do you think should get the trial?? WaPo is a disgrace.

Because if black people were given serum and died, there would be Sharptons and Jacksons hollering that black people were used as experiments because they didn't want to experiment on superior white folks.
Just sayin'......

I have no problem with white liberal elites like Arthur L. Caplan choosing to die for black people in Africa. But I suspect that's NOT his message. Because he's part of the medical establishment, with great thought and angst - he'll decide that medical personnel MUST get the life saving drug first.

Maybe because you have an American company that has two doses and two sick Americans. I would expect any country to act likewise.

Someone explain to Arthur L. Caplan that since the American public PAYS for most of the research in this country - including his - that if there’s a vaccine it should be given to save AMERICANS first - then the rest of the world.
Any guilty white liberal can always donate his vaccine to an African of his choice if he wants to...
If that’s NOT good enough than Congress should STOP throwing away our money on ‘citizens of the world’ who think of themselves as GODS on our dime. Eff em. Eff Arthur L Caplan and the elites who support him.

I dunno WaPo, do you want to give the FDA authority to approve drugs for use in other countries, is that what you are advocating for?
To: chessplayer
I thought 0bama said earlier in the week that we were not to ‘rush’ on an Ebola vaccine?

If they were left to die because the vaccine was given to someone else, I think it might affect the willingness of other doctors to make the sacrifice.

I believe the young doctors willing to put themselves in harms way easily should be the first to get the vaccine. Blowhard medical elites sitting in Universities should be last...

Time for a lesson in economics.

Speculation:
We know cost, experts and equipment isn’t a factor, so:
Cause they are from the wrong African tribe?
He’s still in negotiations with the Pharmaceutical company over his cut?
They don’t have his transcripts or BC?
He’s afraid to upset the trial attorneys by admitting there might be some good in tobacco?
Valerie and Mooch haven’t given him permission?
Release of the drug might not be a Constitutional breach?
There’s a short list for a start.
