West Africa's Ebola outbreak is out of control but it can be stopped, World Health Organization chief Margaret Chan said on Friday.
"This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it," Chan told the presidents of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast at a meeting in Guinea's capital Conakry.
"If the situation continues to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic in terms of lost lives but also severe socioeconomic disruption and a high risk of spread to other countries," she said, according to a WHO transcript.

That sounds like something that should be in place at all boarding and de-boarding locations worldwide. And not just because of Ebola.

I didn’t think I was trying to be a “19.98” expert. I’ve cited no scripture. I did see specials and study stories about the black plague. There are some parallels. The plague was brought into various parts by lively ship borne trade. Many societies of the time were rather loose in their morals and there were many oppurtunities for body to body contact where infected fleas would be spread from person to person. The black plague took out 50-60 percent of the various regional populations over a period of 30 to 50 years and entire regions were devastated. Yet the antichrist didn’t appear and Revelation did not come to pass. It was a judgment just the same and it caused changes in how the body politic would eventually come to know the Renaissance and Birth of the age of reason. Survivors of plague became more individualistic and had to become resourceful. Relationships, as a whole, with the Established church at the time were also changed.
Of course in our day and age, Israel is now a nation so we know that a whole series of prophetic “dominos” are set to come crashing down. “Pestilences in diverse places” was one of the signs Jesus told us to expect as his coming was drawing near. Ebola may be a “horse” death comes riding in on!
Yes, I do believe that is what they are doing.
Interesting.....in every Liberal run major city with large numbers loose living perves and homosexuals....!
The list should include sweat, spit, and tears. Easy to avoid if you don't get jostled, but keep in mind that sweat on the handrails, the door handle, elevator buttons, can be as infectious because the virus survives on surfaces for a few days.
Six examples:
The Boston Bombing and the methods that followed it to secure the brothers, Katrina, ObamaCare website, the Federal handling (BLM) of the Bundy incident, the border crisis, and the recent CDC protocol failures (there were several and they actually happen with regularity there. I know people who work there).
None of these alone, or reviewed all together, show that our Government can prevent, contain, or safely eradicate an Ebola outbreak.
If just one case is reported it’s going to be “stupid” crazy at your local Wal-Mart.
If a true outbreak occurs, that 1914-ish pandemic is going to look tame.

Totally agree. I came across a small cemetery in the mountains once .... noticed virtually all the death dates (many young & old, some in-between) were mostly in/around 1918. It was very, very eerie for one thing, and utterly sobering to imagine what was going on during that time (killed three to five percent of the world’s population).
No reference to you or your posts/positions at all. (Sorry if it looked like that.) Merely a general observation that when SHTF, the meanings might just be plain as day, and it's all the "experts" who might need to run for the hills. :)
Obama himself has got to count as one of those "Pestilences in diverse places. Instead of being a "Patient Zero" who knocks down the first domino, he's more like a "Pestilence Zero", the pox that once elected, sets the destruction in motion that takes down the entire system.
Once it hits the North American continent, there is no getting rid of it. We’re all @#!#%&!
I’m a Registered Nurse working in an ICU....I have a family. I hate that I might have to make a choice between family and duty to the sick...and that I might get ebola plague from such patients as well. I would never expose my family to anything like that and would live apart from them until any danger passed. I know some medical persons would just “cut and run” like some who did in Africa already(which I totally understand and could not blame them)...but I just don’t see myself doing it.
If it all came down to a catastrophic emergency, I suspect anybody with a pulse, (retirees even) with any sort of health license would be “drafted” in to “help” during the crisis and shirkers might very well be jailed!
My heart goes out to West African Christians. (I know a few)
Ebola and Islam are not exactly pleasant things to face every day.
From the BBC article :
"Dr Kobinger stresses that the transmission in the air is not similar to influenza or other infections.
He points to the experience of most human outbreaks in Africa.
"The reality is that they are contained and they remain local, if it was really an airborne virus like influenza is
it would spread all over the place, and that's not happening."
The article continues that there was airborne transmission from pigs to monkeys. Apparently downwind from coughing ill (Ebola) pigs.
A Freep article on 4/16/14 discusses coughing and the size of dropplets remaining suspended in the air :

Simple epidemiology and disease control if they can do it. Quarantine and isolation since we can’t test and slaughter.
Symptoms begin 3-10 after exposure , according to guidline.
Quarantine period is 21 days !
