A Flemish doctor who manned a medical hotline Wednesday night refused to provide help to a 90-year-old Jewish woman, Bertha Klein, who had suffered a fractured rib. Im not coming! he said. Send her to Gaza for a few hours, and she will not feel the pain anymore, was the reply.
The doctor confirmed the exchange, and said that he had spoken the way he did out of emotional frenzy. The Health Ministry is investigating the matter, according to Joods Actueel (Jewish News).
Kleins son had been the one to call the hotline. His mother was in agonizing pain after she had suffered a fractured rib. The doctor reportedly knew very quickly that the patient was Jewish: her name, her sons accent and her address in Antwerp, Belgiums second-largest Jewish commmunity, betrayed all that.

Europe should just convert to islam already.
... but he must bake a gay wedding cake.
We don’t have to take this passively:
That is the email addy for the Belgium embassy in DC. Here’s my little note:
Dear Ambassador Verbeke: re: the particularly nasty strain of anti-Semitism reflected by your medical community’s refusal to treat Jews, I have one question. Is Belgium really as racist a cesspool as it appears to be, OR are crowds already taking to the streets to protest an elderly woman being categorized as a subhuman, and has the doctor [who refused to treat her] already been charged with malpractice?
Just that one question; thanks.
[PS: when you do this type of thing, it drives the ambassadors NUTS. For maximum impact, keep it polite but scathing.]
OMG, how I miss RR! Think how things would be if he we in charge today.
a Moslim? or not? Interesting that name is withheld.
Not much of a surprise that his name is withheld. Belgians... delusional closet NAZIs with a sense of Lilliputian importance.
This doctor really should be sent to Gaza to man one of the UN's hospital/school/hamas weapons depots.
God bless this elderly woman.
Oh those wacky Belgians! I know that Hercule Poirot was simply a character in stories but the contrast between his love of man and concern for justice with the hateful, small minded and downright evil reality of Belgians is unbelievable!
What’s the “doctor’s” name?
Miserable Fat Belgian Bastards.
I have a love-hate relationship with France but have visited it many, many times in the past. Finally I understand one of the most common derisive insults in its language :
Tu est Belge, alors!
He’s a slime, the word “frenzy” being the giveaway.
Unbelievable! I find it most annoying that the injured woman’s name is published, though, and the name of the offending doctor’s is not.
I stand with Israel.

Ditto!
Unfortunately that ideal that you pine for simply does not jive with reality. Like it or not humans still have a strong tribal affinity. I agree that it might be better if it weren’t so, but we can’t deny reality. God knows we’ve tried everything in this country to counter that and in many ways we’ve made things worse.
“Next time the Germans march through, you will have to excuse me if I dont care.”
And that means what?
Tell them the truth - it will set them free.
That if that nation wants to start acting like, or tolerating, Nazi type behavior, then when another large nation comes to use them as Europe’s doormat, then I’m not going to shed a tear.
I hope that is clear enough. I dont have any tolerance for this type of stuff from Europeans while they sit there and want people to “remember” how bad the Nazis were to them.
you act like them, then you are no better than they were.
Makes sense.
The evil that ran rampant through Europe in 2 World Wars, Communism with Stalin’s millions of victims, and the Cold War is staggering.
Human nature is often brutal and horrific. Past history shows that it will likely happen again.
