The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday overturned the death sentences of two brothers convicted of killing four friends who were robbed and forced to engage in sex acts before being shot to death and left in a snow-covered Wichita field.
The court also struck down three of the four capital murder convictions each against Jonathan and Reginald Carr, citing procedural problems at the brothers' joint trial for its decisions. It upheld one capital murder conviction for each of them.
Prosecutors said the brothers broke into a Wichita home in December 2000 and forced the five people there to have sex with each other and later to withdraw money from ATMs. Two women were raped repeatedly before all five were taken to a soccer field and shot while they were kneeling. Four of them 29-year-old Aaron Sander, 27-year-old Brad Heyka, 26-year-old Jason Befort and 25-year-old Heather Muller died.

This is insane, why overturn 3 capital murder convictions because of a minor procedural error during sentencing? They were found guilty of four murders and attempted murder before the error occurred. WTF is happening in this country? Has every govt institution lost its mind?
That’s what I was thinking, NOT having dealt with anything like this. Do what they say? Because their word is good? Because they might like you better if you do? Evil all the way.
Notice the confusing headline.
Makes it sound like the Bruthas waz frenz wid da crackaz.
Exactly.
This seems to be the equivalent of ‘flooding’ on the political level. Just overload Americans with so much insanity, the system collapses.
Remember hundreds of millions of bullets every federal government department was buying?
Who’d you think those were for?
We are in phase three.
If it’s KS, what does Bob Dole say?
Problem is, these were normal, non-evil people. Normal, non-evil people don't understand or recognize evil people.
All I am saying is to learn from the misfortune of these innocent people that complying with kidnappers does not work out well. This was five against two. If they had all agreed beforehand that if something like this ever happened to them they would all jump on the perps at once, things would have turned out very differently. These guys would never have expected resistance, and may have been taken down like the cowardly scum that they are.
Just decide never to be a victim. That's the personal decision I've made.
Both animals should have been hanging from a tree by now.
Our so-called “justice system” is cruel and unusual to the innocent victims and their families.
This is how one might imagine fighting back,
This is reality,
Such utterly useless and dangerous animals need to be culled from the gene pool and culled quickly. They add nothing to humanity and their very existence involves huge costs.
The sad thing is that there are many animals such as these two “in the wild” and reproducing adding more generations with which we must contend.
“Why are these two animals still sucking air???”
Because, isn’t it racist to put down two sick son of a bitches?
Nice post.
Found this article on this subject:
The important response by the governor and legislature of Kansas is to make two important changes to the composition of the supreme court.
Currently the court has five lawyers, who are selected by other lawyers, and four non-lawyers who are selected by the governor. Obviously this process is flawed and needs to be replaced.
Otherwise, the governor and state legislature should pass a law authorizing the use of the firing squad as a means of execution. It is much harder to legally challenge, requires no special chemicals, and is inexpensive. Any LEO in the state could fire one of the rifles.
Uh huh. No hate crime, eh?
Kansas has no hate crime law.

I tried to read one of these decisions by this group of "judges"...what a mess.
So many "concur in part and dissent in part" so that NONE of them, it seems, wants to take full responsibility for not holding these monsters accountable for their crimes.
One part of the decision reads like this...
....the defendant's conviction for penile rape of a victim immediately after digital rape of the same victim rests on unitary conduct and must be reversed as multiplicitous.
Is that accurate?? Are they saying "digital" and "penile" rape are the same thing? And one cannot be prosecuted for both?? Or am I reading it wrong?
Here is a link for the more "legal eagles" among us, if you want to try and decipher it...

Bottom line, for me, is that the Kangaroos here were anxious to "unconvict" already convicted murderers.
We have judges these days who desecrate the intention of the U.S. Constitution's 14th amendment, while at the same time shredding the institution of marriage--and other judges who are chomping at the bit to disallow the conviction of murderous thugs.
Obama’s Boys at it again.
I have to agree with Shakespeare,
“First we kill all the lawyers. . .”
Only thing worse than the Devil is symapthy for him.
