Um... Perry could just deploy the Texas NG and force a Constitutional question of states’ rights when the federal government refuses to uphold their end of the bargain.

Is there a reason Perry can’t just call out the National Guard himself? I thought that was within a governor’s power.

What he really ought to do is restore the Texas Republic and secede, but above everything else, Perry wants to be president. He won’t do anything that would jeopardize his chances.

Why in the hell do we have border patrol if they can’t detain/arrest invaders?!

Have you noticed that this assault is just in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas? Why would that be? This is an assault on Texas and conservatives, and Obama is in on it.

These aren’t Oklahomans invading Texas. These are foreign nationals. It is our NATIONAL responsibility to deal with them, not just one state. Obama is failing to do his job. He’s a worthless slug.

When did Brit Hume start drinking the Kool-Aid?

So he wants Perry to push the Texas delegation to support a $3.7 billion dollar bill that will effectively a lot less than 2% to the border crises while spending the rest of the money on whatever the hell Obama wants to spend the money on.

As Rep Louie Gohmert articulated this week, that $3.7 Billion bill currently equates to $67,000+ per illegal crossing the border.

One of the most amazing statistics Perry mentioned was that only twenty percent of the people coming in are children. Brit never picked up on it, evidently, and this writer did not. All the discussion is about “the children.”

WTF!? There's no need for that s—thead to demand anything!
He has the authority to do so himself!
TX Constitution
Art 4, Sec. 7. COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF MILITARY FORCES; CALLING FORTH MILITIA.
He shall be Commander-in-Chief of the military forces of the State, except when they are called into actual service of the United States. He shall have power to call forth the militia to execute the laws of the State, to suppress insurrections, and to repel invasions.

CWII Spark — Lying governors may yet force the local citizenry to arm themselves and act (i.e. the original militia ).

Obama is giving us the finger. He shoots pool and goes to parties instead of dealing with this problem. He has a meeting with Perry and releases photos of himself yucking it up. He’s giving the American people the finger.
“I dare you to make me do my job! Nyeah! Nyeah!”
This is the one issue that can really be shoved up Obama’s donkey. Foreign nationals are invading our country. What’s he doing about it? Playing pool? Fire the worthless slug.

I just don’t understand why he doesn’t take his state’s responsibility more serious than what he does. The gangs are recruiting in those holing centers while terrorists are slipping in as well. I realize he is thinking all politics here though Perry could just deploy the Texas National Guard. It’s way overdue (Imo).

Perry should not plead with Obama’s administration any further in helping to protect that border. They are not about to do it. Have a showdown, once and for all. People will support this. Most people that I talk to are very angry about the illegals coming in. It’s insane in how the government has been handling this for years (now this)... Are we a sovereign nation or allowing for open borders. Didn’t 9-11 change our way of thinking. It’s unreal what is going on!

There is a cheaper alternative. The Mexican Govt is issuing 'visitor cards' to CA migrants. IF they intend to hit the US border.

Mexico has **no incentive** to stop the movement of illegals, as they have done in the past. Perhaps payback for Fast and Furious?

anyway, please note this -
To its north, Mexico shares a border with the United States that is 3,169 km (1,969 mi) in length. Our two countries share the same track gauge of 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in), with **multiple cross border links**.

CG Railway operates a train ferry between the port of Mobile at Mobile, Alabama and the port of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. - Bet you didn't know this, eh? Wait, it gets better.

To its south, Mexico shares an 871 km (541 mi) border with Guatemala and a 251 km (156 mi) border with Belize. There is an inactive link with rail transport in Guatemala at Ciudad Tecún Umán in Ayutla, San Marcos, with a break of gauge (1,435 mm / 914 mm).

Step 1
NO **rail traffic** or goods to Mexico. Or *from* Mexico.

Step 2
Fine the US partners (Yes, US companies own/run the railroads in Mexico, look it up) if steps aren't taken to stop train hoppers.

If these don't work -
Disable the rail link between Central America and Mexico proper. (ie the Beast) Destroy a single bridge by drone strike if needs be.

That stops the incoming.

For those here - land C-17s at McAllen and start loading 'em up. Honduras has over 30 airports. Land in rotation and spread the wealth **back home** for them.

Simplistic as all get out - maybe stupid even.
And absolutely not going to happen.

Just remember, A Governor named Billy Clinton *lost* an election in AR because of the Cuban boatlift and the problems the Cubans brought to AR via Fort Chaffee.

A President name Jimmy Carter *lost* an election, in part, because of the Viet Boat people and the Cubans.

"Bammy don't care, he's out no matter what.

But all those Dem Senators and Reps had better be looking over their shoulder - because once the **true** number of this mass invasion comes out, they'll be looking for a new job. No matter how hard the lame stream media tries to cover it up....

This is going to be an interesting summer and election cycle.

This has been a topic of some discussion on the Texas Board, so here’s what I posted there:

***

Specifically in terms of military authority: If Perry calls up the Texas National Guard and sends them to the border again (he’s done that once already as governor) the Feds will then exercise their option to ‘nationalize’ the TNG and send them home (or they can send them anywhere else, actually.) Federal control of the National Guard has long since been established.

In short - Perry can call out the National Guard, but the Feds can countermand his order if they want to.

There is also the Texas State Guard that answers only to the state of Texas, but it’s less a combat outfit and more an engineering, medical and logistics outfit in terms of their expertise and deployment. The State Guard is also not very big and not well funded - but they’re already deployed at the border anyway. They’re currently running Operation Border Star VII in conjunction with other agencies.

***

Yeah, a lot of people don’t know the command structure. Also, I used the wrong term - it’s not nationalized but Federalized. Anyway, it’s a little more complicated than that but that’s essentially how it works.

As mentioned yesterday, he could be trying to visibly exhaust all his alternatives before going ahead and calling out the National Guard. Basically, he could be creating an atmosphere where it would look very, very, very bad for the Feds to try to Federalize the deployed National Guard. At this point, the Obama Administration is starting to shy away from that sort of thing when the media spotlight is on an event.

I don’t know that this is what he’s doing, but his actions are consistent with it.

***

BO can call up the TNG under certain conditions - but if he does the callup, the Feds have to pay for it and the Feds are responsible for their actions just like any Regular Army unit. There are also limitations on how, when and why the Feds can call up the Guard, even with the approval of the state’s governor.

However, if Perry calls up the Guard for State Active Duty, Texas gets stuck with the bills. Oh, and the Feds can demand to be reimbursed for used supplies, equipment, ammo, etc. at almost whatever rate they feel like naming. The Feds can also Federalize the called up unit and then do whatever with it - up to and including sending them to Iraq or Afghanistan.

***

There you go, my $0.02.

Hume has really turned into a lefty the past few years. He should move back to ABC.

I don’t guess the NG would do any good if our media constantly reports that they can’t do anything. Personally, I think they should be allowed to shoot to kill. Especially when a drug runner runs his SUV into the river and starts swimming. Shoot him before he gets halfway across.

Doesn’t the National Guard report to the governor unless called into federal service? So why doesn’t Perry send the Texas national guard to the border on his own authority?

It’s long been time for Rick Perry to display some leadership, and it’s not a surprise to many that he has not.

These are foreign nationals invading a state of THE UNITED STATES of America. If Oklahomans were invading Texas, then I could see Perry dealing with it. These are foreign nationals. It is Obama’s job to deal with this, and he’s drinking beer and playing pool and going to parties. He has broken the contract he has with the American people. What would anyone, ANYONE, do with an employee who neglected his responsibilities and went drinking beer and playing pool and going to parties? They would fire him. But the Democrats stick up for Obama? He was playing golf on Saturday. He’s just giving every American citizen the finger.

“F**k you! Try to make me work! Nyeah! Nyeah!”

This isn’t politics and it isn’t racism. This is an employee blowing off his job. He’s drawing pay without earning it. That’s a theft of hard-earned American taxpayer money. Obama is now just a worthless slug.
