Are Beck and Company Funding Lawlessness in the Name of Jesus
American Thinker ^ | July 12, 2014 | M. Catharine Evans

Posted on 07/12/2014 6:23:34 AM PDT by opentalk

Glenn Beck has set up Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border.

Is he kidding?  Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America?

Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes to the consequences of illegal immigration so what do they care?

It’s the working class and middle class who will take the hit. It’s not bad enough that Team Obama is giving  illegals free rein when it comes to social services, we have to witness do-gooders on our side making public displays of their “Christ-like” behavior towards people who are breaking the law while telling us to walk in love.

..Compassion for the down-and-out is fine, but invading a nation by the tens of thousands is an act of war.

...What really bites about all of this is the implication that those of us standing against this monstrous disregard for the law are not following Christ’s teachings. Is funding Obama’s plan to destroy this country in the New Testament

Glenn Beck is a good American and has put his fame and fortune on the line to act in a way Jesus would act. We all have faults and I have some things in my closet that are not perfect.

Compared to the current occupant of the WH Glenn is a Saint. There is but one God who loves us all unconditionally.

Some people that would ridicule Glenn Beck would also not vote for Mitt Romney but voted for BHO. How is that working for you?

OK - my answer to the question is NO.

It’s my understanding that these children are not necessarily breaking the law. There are laws that specifically allow people to come here and claim asylum. They probably even permit the children to be released pending an asylum hearing (I haven’t heard definitively whether this latter point is true).

So long as the child shows up at the asylum hearing—which many may not do, and that’s clearly illegal—they aren’t violating the law. Again, if anyone can point to any laws that prevent these children from claiming asylum and being allowed to stay, please educate me.

So who to blame? Blame the stinking politicians who wrote these laws in the first place! In regards to the children themselves, I think we have an obligation to treat them humanely. I prefer they were sent home quickly, even if that means we spend more to set up additional courts to quickly address asylum claims, but a quick fix is unlikely given the politics.

My take on this:

HHS is denying almost everybody access. IF Beck is advocating temporary assistance until these kids can be returned quickly to their families, then the move is brilliant. IF. That’s because all of his privately funded help will be turned down by Big Gov. The public will see Christian help denied.

IF Beck advocates helping these kids so we can keep them in the US, then that’s a different story.

I think the Bible is clear. We are judged on how we treat the poor. (Not how we force others to treat the poor) I don’t think Beck is advocating that the government help them.

Can’t speak for Beck’s motives, but it’s really bugging me that bishops of the Catholic Church and other religious organizations are actively encouraging this invasion of illegals. They are trying to guilt us into accepting these invaders and give of our own personal resources to provide for them. There is this notion that America is a rich country and can afford to take care of everyone with a hand out. Maybe we were in a better position than most at one time, but the fact is now, most of us can barely provide fir ourselves and our families, let alone thousands of illegals. Our economy is swirling the bowl and despite the bogus numbers from the Labor Department, far too many are unemployed We simply just don’t have the money to give.

HHS pre-paid for the care of the invaders:

I can think of nothing better than to see Christians & Conservatives open their homes and hearts. Raise these kids to be super conservative thinkers and over- comers. Instead of institutionalizing them, free them.

We pre paid for the care of the invaders.

It first passed through the IRS, then through HHS with each taking their cut. What a business.

The following is a small taste of what’s out there in grant records. This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks.

Between Dec 2010 and Nov 2013, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Galveston received $15,549,078 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for “Unaccompanied Alien Children Project” with a program description of “Refugee and Entry Assistance.”

Last year, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth received $350,000 from Department of Homeland Security for “citizenship and education training” with a program description of “citizenship and immigration services.”

Between September 2010 and September 2013, the Catholic Charities of Dallas received $823,658 from the Department of Homeland Security for “Citizenship Education Training” for “refugee and entrant assistance.”

From Dec 2012 to January 2014, Baptist Child & Family Services received $62,111,126 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for “Unaccompanied Alien Children Program.”

Any questions?

H/T Terri Harris Hill for the tip and initial research.

Asylum seekers are typically individuals. Refugees are groups. Under previous agreements, refugees are given passage to the first neighboring country in which they may be safe.

Under the circumstances, those fleeing Guatamala and El Salvador would seek refuge in Mexico.

More and perhaps better questions for these Beckies are...

How many of these invaders are you willing to personally house, feed and support?

Are you willing to live around gang/crime infested third-world barrios in you nice, little communities?

It's easy to be all WWJD if you don't have to live with it or in it. Many Christians can be just as silly with the open borders stupidity as much as any leftist moonbat. They applaud and condone this to the determent of the our republic.

How many Christians stayed home because he is a Mormon?

They stayed home because Mitt Romneycare was a pro-homo adoption, pro-homo military, pro-big goverment, pro-government run healthcare, pro-amnesty, liberal, one term ex governor of Taxachusetts. I don't think the fact that he wears magic underwear was that big of a factor.
