‘We Have Made the Decision to Reorder the Book’: Costco Reverses Decision to Remove ‘America’
The Blaze ^ | 07/09/20q14 | Oliver Darcy

Wholesale retailer Costco announced Tuesday evening that they have reversed a decision to remove conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza’s bestselling book from stores, following an outcry from thousands of angry customers.

“Costco is not a book store. Our book shelf space is very limited,” a statement posted on Facebook said. “We exercise discipline in the best utilization of that limited space based solely on what our members are buying. We can’t carry every title that our members are interested in reading. We are constantly monitoring book sales, and make decisions to pull books off the shelves frequently based on sales volume to make room for other titles. Politics or controversy over content do not influence our decisions.”

I’ve never heard of BJ’s Wholesale Club. Perhaps it doesn’t have stores in So. California. We tried Sam’s Club, but it doesn’t have a gas station, and the meat isn’t as good, so for us it’s not as good a deal. Does BJ’s sell gas?

If that statement were true Hildebeest’s prevaricated tome would have already been pulled.

There are no Costco stores where I live. But the decision to censor the book reminded me of Hitler burning piles of books that did not support his propaganda. I bought the book from Barnes & Noble as a protest against Costco. I will see the movie also.

I hope that this boneheaded decision by Costco costs them as much as J C Penney’s decision to run ads with same sex couples and families. They still haven’t recovered and may never even though they canned the clown that was hired from Apple.

So Costco still has stacks of Hillary’s book, her book which has fallen to #781 on the best seller list????

See how they are caught lying? “America” is selling well, as the movie has created a spike in sales for his book. On the other hand, Hillary’s book never took off, and the interest declined sharply once her book tour ended. Yet they still have stacks of Hillary’s book to peddle. Go figure.

Yes the BJ’s here in Florida sell gas. Sam’s Club doesn’t around here but Costco does sell gas. Strangely in California the Costco in Agoura Hills does not have a gas station.

I'm a conservative.

I'm also a COSTCO member.

COSTCO made the right choice putting Dinesh D’Souza’s book back in their stores. Give them credit. Liberal elites would never shop at a 'big box' store like COSTO... and when I shop there I seldom see blacks. Democrats don't shop there in large numbers. Their customers are Republicans.

COSTCO gave the finger to the majority of us... and NOW they've reversed that position. Good for them. Time to move on... it's OK again to shop there again.

Yep. I do so because, maybe these people will stop caving into the depraved Democrat Party and their millions of minions. I don't care that they reversed course. It's Costco's business, they may do as they like. But I also have a right not to shop there.

Had this discussion with a lib about movies. If I don't like what an actor says, I might watch the movie when it's on regular TV, but they won't get my money at the box office.

Jane Fonda will not even get me to watch her on regular TV. She has always been dead to me.

Sam’s has the most stores nationwide, Costco is second, but I don’t believe there are anywhere near as many BJ’s stores nationwide. Where I live, we only have Sam’s and BJ’s, but more people go to Sam’s even though the prices, selection and coupon policy are better at BJ’s. I guess the people are just more familiar with Sam’s.

“it’s OK again to shop there again.”

So they can shove their political views in your face again the next chance they get? No, thanks.

Simple answer:

The big Lib Obama donor, owner of Costco decided that the money coming in from the book could be used to make even more donations to Obama and the Dims.

This is the dream fantasy of every up and coming author. Exponentially increased name recognition of both title and writer. Point of significance where the mere purchase of your book become an act of political pride and a triumph of good over evil intentions. One doesn’t even have to read the book to become part of the group who wants America restored and rescued. All this exposure and symbology done free of charge. Thanks Costco, couldn’t have done it on this scale without you!

“..............We are constantly monitoring book sales, and make decisions to pull books off the shelves frequently based on sales volume...”

If this be the case then why are there stacks of Hillary’s crappy books on the table THAT VERY FEW OF COSTCO’S, much less any book seller’s CUSTOMER’S ARE BUYING?

Exactly!

...and so when is Hillary’s book gonna get pulled?!

I give them credit for explaining their original decision (blaming the book supplier, but whatever), reviewing the situation. and very quickly reversing the decision.

I don't. Their excuse doesn't hold water and I think they're lying to try and cover their butts. If they had come out with a sincere apology like "A merchandising executive overstepped his bounds and pulled the book because of his personal beliefs, so we have fired him and corrected the situation" then I would accept the explanation.

This explanation sounds like the IRS' "oops, perhaps we made a mistake, but we didn't mean it... let's all move on now".
