TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie today vetoed a gun control bill that would have reduced the permitted size of ammunition magazines, saying it would do nothing to reduce gun violence.
“This is the very embodiment of reform in name only. It simply defies common sense to believe that imposing a new and entirely arbitrary number of bullets that can be lawfully loaded into a firearm will somehow eradicate, or even reduce, future instances of mass violence,” Christie said. “Nor is it sufficient to claim that a ten-round capacity might spare an eleventh victim.”
The move came less than an hour after gun control advocates — including parents of two children killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting — dropped off at Christie's office 55,000 signatures of people from around the country, including 10,000 from New Jersey, urging him to sign the measure.

He lives in a state where you cannot get a slingshot and you need a permit for a BB gun. Such tough talk from the ruler of a state with the strictest rules in the country.

Before you cheer for this gungrabbing fat ass, better check his record.
Should someone be credited, let alone championed, for doing the right thing for the wrong reason?
Particularly if that reason is shameless political self promotion?
The truth is that Christies trying to peel off just enough Conservatives tonget him back into the nomination race. His long history of support for anti-gun measures shows this act to be an outlier. If he wasn’t running for higher office as a Republican he would have signed it in a big flashy ceremony, probably with Sarah Brady on one side of him and Gabby Giffords on the other, with Newtown and Columbine families surrounding them.

UNDERSTAND that talking down to people you disagree with ("... expect people to treat them like adults") is for those whose arguments are so weak they must resort to classifying fellow Americans into "children" and "adults," the "adults" being themselves, of course, and the "children" those who disagree.
There are no children involved in these decisions or discussions. They are ALL adults. Only arrogant assholes consider themselves the "adults" who must chastise "children" willful enough to dispute their flawed opinions.
