Yes it is. I’m not a Christie guy but I appreciate his position on firearms here and will send him a letter of thanks. So should every other prohun person. You can be sure he will here from the anti gun loons

Exactly! Conservatives should be praising Christie for this decision. And enough with the name-calling and the fat jokes. I swear these people act like the hypocritical liberals, and then they expect people to treat them like adults. This ban would have done nothing to stop crime, but would have punished law-abiding gun owners. Applause for Christie. And shame on the name callers throwing out insults like six-year-olds. Grow up.

Should someone be credited, let alone championed, for doing the right thing for the wrong reason?
Particularly if that reason is shameless political self promotion?
The truth is that Christies trying to peel off just enough Conservatives tonget him back into the nomination race. His long history of support for anti-gun measures shows this act to be an outlier. If he wasn’t running for higher office as a Republican he would have signed it in a big flashy ceremony, probably with Sarah Brady on one side of him and Gabby Giffords on the other, with Newtown and Columbine families surrounding them.
