AP just called the race for Brat in the VA-7 race.
But, but, but....they said the Tea Party was dead!!!!
Actually, I’m not sure whether Brat did or did not receive TP support. I was responding to someone who posted that he did not. Today, all I hear is that he’s the TP candidate....so....maybe he did.
He got nothing from TPP, Tea Party Express, FreedomWorks or Club for Growth. And they are all out today begging for money taking credit for Dave Brat’s win.
What tea party support he had, was strictly local tea party groups. Not a single national tea party affiliated organization stepped up. Not.one. Screw them all.
He didn’t. Gal from TP was on FOX today and said they spent their money on the Mississippi primaries.
Thanks for the info, guys.
That makes his win even more impressive.
You can rest assured they will support Brat in the general.
So the new rat candidate, Professor Trammell, is an “author”. He’s written a cheap “romance” novel and is working on some “vampire fiction”. The rats have a real winner here.
Not to mention he shares the same last name as Reva Trammell. She provides endless hilarity as a member of Richmond City Council. I don’t know if they’re related or not but the low info voters may be influenced.
This one shocked me. I never saw it coming. But I’ve since read that Eric Cantor had an arrogant staff who ignored constituents and was rude to other Congressional staffers. Cantor himself didn’t pay attention to what was happening back home until the final weeks of the primary, than run heavy-handed negative ads which backfired.
The real tragedy is that Lindsay Graham will be returning to the Senate.
“All politics is local.”, right?
If true, then his office must have REALLY alienated the voters, ‘cause most of the pols (of any party) know not to piss off the “Janes and Joes”.
Graham: The opposition was too fractionated.
I support a broad-spectrum energy approach that relies on the free market. The private sector must be set free to invest in natural gas, wind, solar, oil, nuclear, and other forms of energy as we move forward. Ending our reliance on foreign oil and moving toward energy independence is vital to the future welfare of America.Did he forget to mention coal in his energy stance? Yes, yes, he said "other forms of energy", but I'm somewhat concerned that he didn't mention coal, especially since the liberals are hellbent on destroying our coal industry.
That being said, I am glad that Brat won, and more importantly I am glad that a sniveling little coward like Eric Cantor is out. How can you say you represent America if you don't draft articles of impeachment against the Hussein Administration? He was the Majority Leader, too, so he certainly had the clout to do so, and anyone who denies that we have the evidence to do so is probably bankrolled by Soetoro.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful [...] and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
And weak. The guy in second place would have lost a runoff anyway and I'm not convinced the 3rd place guy (who I would have voted for) could have gotten the job done either. I expected Graham to win, you can't beat something with nothing. Graham is a slick campaigner with a lot of resources.
“And weak”
Yes. Weak and divided opposition, combined with the perks of incumbency = a win for Graham.
Sucks.
Sadly that's their usual routine. Despicable.
It was clear back in 2009 but few could see it and warnings by some of us went unheeded and still do. Tragically, she squanders the hard-earned money of thousands of sincere, often naïve, grass root patriots.
BillyBoy, spot on...my thoughts and sentiments exactly. We shall see.
I've had the same thought a number of times over the years. Poignant point.
Cantor may have ceased to be responsive to his district, was part of the Republican Leadership and may have sung a different tune on immigration and a few other issues than most in his district, but he was still a conservative on most issues. Murkowski was not...and the state of Alaska generally is probably less conservative than Cantor's district.
Cantor will honor the decision of his district's Republican voters.
The original Tea Party was temporary.....the contemporary Tea PARTY Movement is also temporary and was never meant to be permanent. But the conservative Movement will live on....
Republican Unity is absolutely CRITICAL to defeating the LEFT and the democrats, which should be our number one priority.
