Gonzaga University anthropologist David B. Givens says the widely disseminated video, which shows a wan-looking Bergdahl being marched by his captors to three Special Forces soldiers and an Army helicopter, reveals a prisoner reluctant to part from his captors.
Based purely on the nonverbal cues captured in this Taliban video, the American and his Afghan handler behaved in a manner that would be consistent with a sad farewell or a grieving goodbye, Givens, director of the Center for Nonverbal Studies in Spokane, Wash., told The Daily Beast. They shared friendly, direct eye contact in the manner of allies rather than enemies.
....
Based on his depressed lip corners, puckered brows, and tearing eyes, along with the forward bowing motions of his head, the American appeared to be softly crying, Givens continued in an email. The Afghan man seemed to console the American with friendly, palm-up (supinated) hand gestures, and then gently patted the American several times, reassuringly, on the shoulder, as if to wish him well.

THE most telling thing about that whole video was the fact that his ‘rescuers’ frisked his ass before they let him on the helicopter. He’s no POW.
I wonder if they infected him with some disease before turning him over.
I watched it several times. He actually smiled at his captor....as if he had wanted to hug him at this pint but couldn't
Wonder what color is rug is and what he's eating.
Well, no duh. He knows what he did. When the smoke clears, this guy will be playing house Bradley Manning for the 25 years..
Yes, but it was the mind disease of Islam.
Yep, he was sad to be leaving his buddies.
Exactly my thought. He’s converted and apparently working with them. Probably left a wife and kids, for all we know, to go to a prison cell back home in the west.
Did he become “Da Belle a da Ball!” if you kmow what I mean?
I think he did.
Haha!
True.
Also, the second he is handed over, the SF guy runs his hand along Bergdahl’s back - he’s not patting him on the back as a welcome home gesture....its a check for weapons/explosives.
As soon as this phony scandal blows over, he can go trotting back over to his friends in the Taliban, and they can start the exchange process all over again.
Muhammabama The Flexible will give them whatever they ask for.
As an unpunished deserter who apparently has given himself up to the aid and comfort of the enemy, and whose whereabouts are now known, he may know that he is a marked man and could thus be summoned to stand before the judgment seat of God and give an account of his life anytime now.
This type of analysis is dubious.
They looked pretty chummy for an impersonal hostage exchange. I wondered when I saw Bergdahl smiling and the Taliban guy patting him on the arm. Whuz up with that?
And tossed away the bag he was carrying.
My thoughts exactly.
