As controversy grows over the release of five hardened Taliban detainees in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the Obama administration is considering springing yet another prisoner from Guantanamo Bay.
Fouzi Khalid Abdullah al-Awda appeared via a video feed before a review board Wednesday morning in northern Virginia, often smiling as his private counsel Eric Lewis made the case for his release.
Al-Awda has been held prisoner for 12 years. According to Defense Department officials and his official Guantanamo detainee profile, he traveled from his home in Kuwait to Afghanistan just before the 9/11 attacks to train in terrorist camps, and "possibly" fight alongside the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
Al-Awda maintains he only went to Afghanistan for "humanitarian reasons to provide alms for the poor and to teach the Koran."
The deliberations follow the administration's controversial decision to free five Taliban leaders from Guantanamo in exchange for Bergdahl over the weekend. Lawmakers say the former prisoners are high-risk and were among the most sought-after detainees by Taliban leadership. There are now 149 detainees left at Guantanamo, which President Obama has struggled to close since taking office in 2009.

And we all know one translation of the term- struggle
If there’s no repercussions for his actions, why would ths POS stop?
Let’s start calling “Terrorism” what it really is - Jihad.
The bastard is just trying to get us to revolt, so he can declare Martial Law. If this doesnt work, he’ll just try something else. Which is why he must be physically removed from office, NOW!
He is freeing the worst ones so that next year he can say the others are lightweight and should all be cut loose.
I have NO idea how “a troll all” got replaced there ;)
Sadly,,America has already forgotten about the VA horror show.....they’ll forget about this in due time. However, they CAN remember who got kicked off The Survivor Island last season.
I am shocked, shocked I tell ya, that Kuwait has not worked hard get back this fine moral upstanding citizen and deliverer of alms to the poor
I wonder why
But.....you don't want it to be a campaign issue? geesh
How much will this Gitmo release cost in lives lost or taxpayer dollars? The SOB in the White Hut needs to be given A WARNING from someone with authority instead the few talking heads who seem to give a crap. These are TREASONOUS and CRIMINAL ACTS. Who is going to step up and say enough? NO ONE. THAT’S WHO. AND HE KNEW IT SIX YEARS AGO WHEN HE WAS SWORN IN. I absolutely loathe this man and all that he has done to this country.
I will blame him. And I bet a lot of other Americans will blame him.
Totally agree. I’m so ticked off right now I can hardly see straight.
The first release without following the “LAWS” of the land was just a test case. So now he plans on EMPTYING GITMO and no further notification will be required because the LAWS of the United States of America do not apply to the first black President - even when he signed the law. Congress will not cooperate so he has to use his phone and pen all alone to achieve what he promised his looney left base.
Liar in Chief can then say he got socialized medicine, he finished the Iraqi and Afgani wars, he got carbon credits, and he closed Guantanamo.
Disgusting.
I’m afraid Odumsh*t is going to unilaterally empty Gitmo of these goat-humpers before he leaves office, then give himself a presidential pardon.
Some of the Gitmo boys should be released to work in the White House. I’m sure the Obama brats could use a baby sitter or someone to teach them to recite the Koran just like their father was taught. I bet Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi could also use some office help, a new gardener etc.
Kind of a win-win for him, no?
Either he gets all the radical anti-American stuff implemented without opposition,
or opposition rises up so that he has an excuse to use military force against those who oppose him.
