House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., repeatedly put the blame for the Veterans Affairs scandal on former President George W. Bush, while arguing that her party has worked hard for veterans in recent years.
Pelosi took a shot at Bush while saying that the scandal is a high priority for Obama. "He sees the ramifications of some seeds that were sown a long time ago, when you have two wars over a long period of time and many, many more, millions more veterans," she told reporters during her Thursday press briefing. "And so, I know that he is upset about it."
The Democratic leader never mentioned Bush by name, but she alluded to him early and often in the press briefing.
"Maybe when we go into war, we should be thinking about its consequences and its ramifications," Pelosi said while discussing the scandal. "You would think that would be a given, but maybe it wasn't. And so, we go in a war in Afghanistan, leave Afghanistan for Iraq with unfinished business in Afghanistan. Ten years later, we have all of these additional veterans. In the past five years, two million more veterans needing benefits from the VA. That's a huge, huge increase."

A new wrinkle to the old reliable “Blame Bush” ploy....
1. Personally take responsibility.
2. Direct all other RAT mouthpieces to “Blame Bush.”
Who says you can’t put a new shine on an old turd?
Pelosi had a chance to fix the VA and did not do it.
Pelosi is out of her mind. In my mind, the breakdown in the VA happened under the Clinto watch. There was no major war going on and the VA was an afterthought. I know it was fine during the Nixon and Carter eras because I used it...the response was quick as snail mail back then allowed.
I tried it again during the Clinto era, and it had become bureaucraticly slow.
It’s not her fault. Her programmers should change the recording that goes off when you pull the string in her back.
The VA problems aren’t Obama’s fault, Bush’s fault, or even Clinton’s fault. The problems with the VA go back decades. The problem is that the VA is run by the government.
Basically what we got here is a POTUS who has effectively retired from doing his job. He does nothing but talk and go on vacation. And if anything goes wrong, hey just blame Bush! Quite a racket. I gotta try that. I’ll just stop showing up at work, or stop in once in a while to talk, and when things go to hell, hey I’ll just blame the last guy who had my job. Let’s see how long I last before i get my ass fired.
Millions?!
And all from Iraq/Afganistan?!
None from ‘Nam, Korea? WWII?!
In 2009 and 2010 the democrats had a super majority in the House and Senate. That along with the presidency means they could have done just about anything they wanted to fix problems. They chose not to do anything. Pelosi, Reid and Obama are to blame.
So Nan- who was the House majority leader during most of the Bush administration? (crickets)
VA care really is luck of the draw. In some places the care is very good. In others it's awful. My husbands care in Minneapolis was pretty good, but he had to wait 5 months for a sonogram on his heart. (Before we were married). He's never had a colonoscopy, although they do a screening every year.
We are in South Dakota now and he goes to Hot Springs and they seem to be very good. They actually screened him for agent orange, which no one else had. So it really is a crap shoot.
He said that the Denver VA was awful, the reason was Holder's people were the majority of the staff there and they had attitudes.
I would strongly advise anyone if your Vet ends up in a VA hospital or Home, watch them like a hawk. We had money stolen from us so fast in Minneapolis. We were not even in the room yet. He had money in his pocket. After that I took all his valuable home. Also your presence there will assure that he gets his meds on time and he is not forgotten. I am telling you this from experience.
Let’s accept she is right. How the heck can the VA not handle 2 million extra vets, but Obamacare is supposed to flawlessly handle many, many millions more than that (and eventually everyone)?
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with the VA. Its a model of efficiency...according to paul krugman.

I didn’t know he was on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. Why in the world would you put a socialist non-veteran on that committee?
You didn’t expect anything other than the party line from Beckel, did you?
The lying going on here would make a jihadi & Satan blush....
Nancy, when are you going to blame Liberals?
