More than 1,000 dog deaths may now be linked to toxic jerky treats according to the Food and Drug Administration.
And the agency says since 2007, there have been almost 5,000 complaints of pet illnesses related to the treats.

We almost lost our little dog because of them damn things from China.
Sure wish the excerpt was at least big enough to tell me which treats it is talking about...
It’s all about the ethics of cheating the consumer.
Do they have any qualms about using a poison to fake the quality of their product? It seems not.
If you got the info you wanted from the excerpt, you wouldn’t click on the link!
(I won’t anyway)
Go into a pet store these days and many of the treats are prominently labeled “Made in USA”. The market at work.
And our FDA thinks we consumers have no reason to know the source of our human drugs. I cannot find out where any specific prescription med comes from anymore. Wanna bet China is a common source ?!

Any chicken jerky brand made in China. Waggin Train is the big brand that was suspect. I believe Purina moved production to Thailand.
I woukd have thought that after the last rash of Bad Pet Food from China....that there wouldnt be anyone stupid enough to import the stuff!
I know several people who have had to go to the ER because of eating Farm Raised Fish that was “made in China”. They suffered from severe allergic reactions.
We always buy from either Canada or the US with regards to Dog Food.
I heard that!.
The FDA....over does it...on Domestic Stuff...and completely overlooks imports evidently
I went to the article and it does not name brands. It does mention chicken or duck jerky or jerky wrapped treats. The trip was not worth the trouble of blocking two ‘cookies’ but that is the way it goes.
It would seem that this is intentional.
That includes dog toys. Why would anyone let their dog play with toys from China? Who could possibly trust the paint dyes?
They intentionally used a chemical (ammonia) in order to get a higher protein measurement without having any more expensive meat in the product.
Intentionally killing the dogs? Probably not.
Just intentionally cheating.
It's hard to know which ones are safe but be assured that nothing consumable, by man or animal, is safe from China.
My dogs LOVE Dingo bones but I love them too much to continue giving them poison from China.
