I don’t blame him.

He said something which was stupid.

He did nothing that was criminal.

What ever happened to the concept of private property rights?

Had he not gone public with an interview he may have been able to argue the audio was illegally obtained and not his official position or public one. It was a lover’s quarrel and he may have said things that were not of his personal or public opinion.

What’s the point of paying a fine when the only result is a ban.

Screw em.

This could be fun.

Sterling said some bad things. But there are big issues of what specifically is in the NBA by laws, how franchise business law is a part of this, process for forcing a sale of the team, and many other legal issues here.

I haven’t heard either the media or lawyers digging into this girl. Did she make these tapes legally? Who leaked the tapes, as she said she didn’t? What was her relationship to Magic Johnson? Who stood to benefit from leaking the tapes? How does this girl pay her bills?

There are so many unanswered questions about this entire episode. I think it would be good to air it all out.

Probably, the NBA commissioner thought Sterling would just slink away, after being given the equivalent of the death penalty.

Commish came up with this penalty after only a 3 day investigation. It’s doubtful that he really had time to have the NBA attorneys investigate all angles of this controversy. Or what the potential NBA legal liability could be.

I hope this is one of many instances of turnabout against the practitioners of PC bullying.

The NBA is trying to roll him and he’s not rolling over.

In court, you can’t use evidence that was obtained illegally. Here, the only evidence that Sterling was a racist is a tape recording that was illegally made. It would be in admissible.

How can the NBA punish Sterling if they cannot prove in court that he did anything wrong?

If I was 80 and had that money I would burn them all down just out of spite. I would gut the team.

Good for him.

Constitutionally we have the right to be bigoted bores. How much did Jesse Jackson’s anti Semitic remarks cost him? Or Al Sharpton’s? Nothing of course. Not to mention the never ending daily barrage of hate whitey.

If he were a liberal, or a black, the feds would be prosecuting the recording perp for illegal wiretapping.

The slippery slope of the the Thought Police has a very ugly and dangerous bottom.

The problem here is that we are fighting a just battle for freedom of speech from behind the weak media firewall of a well known racist billionaire. The left loves these kind of media spectacles because they get to further brainwash their base, score points with middle AND successfully paint the conservatives as defending a rich racist.

Pass the popcorn please........
This is the most I have watched the NBA for decades..
The NBA made a huge error in judgement when they thought they could use Sterling for some publicity.
Now they will get more of that then they ever wanted.....

Let’s face it, Sterling is a bigoted old fart but... what he said in the privacy of his own home was not illegal. I’d hate for anyone to hear some of the things I’ve said in privacy. I hope he wins!

I kept on telling everyone, just because the NBA tells you to do something, doesn’t mean he couldn’t still fight it, would not mean the NBA would necessarily win but everyone said “It’s like a franchise, if the other owners voted against him, that’s all there is to it.”

This is the first year in a long time that the NBA has been entertaining. I hope Sterling stays healthy. This is great stuff.
