One day after The White House released 100 pages of Benghazi emails, a report has surfaced alleging that Republicans released a set with altered text.
CBS News reported Thursday that leaked versions sent out by the GOP last Friday had visible differences than Wednesday's official batch. Two correspondences that were singled out in the report came from National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes and State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.
The GOP version of Rhodes' comment, according to CBS News: "We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don't want to undermine the FBI investigation."
The White House email: "We need to resolve this in a way that respects all of the relevant equities, particularly the investigation."
The GOP version of Nuland's comment, according to CBS News: The penultimate point is a paragraph talking about all the previous warnings provided by the Agency (CIA) about al-Qaeda's presence and activities of al-Qaeda."
The White House email: "The penultimate point could be abused by members to beat the State Department for not paying attention to Agency warnings."
The news parallels a Tuesday CNN report which initially introduced the contradiction between what was revealed in a White House Benghazi email version, versus what was reported in media outlets. On Monday, Mother Jones noted that the Republicans' interim report included the correct version of the emails, signaling that more malice and less incompetence may have been at play with the alleged alterations.

Dude..
I would suspect that’s the case. As long as the person who received the documents can prove the chain of custody (that is, that they came directly from the WH after the court order and were never altered), I think this is going to look worse for the WH than anybody else.
In other words, the WH issued a “massaged” version of the documents.
Article at HuffPo dated May of 2013.
LOL, sure, why not. Hell, if we get Obama admitting stuff on video tape, we MovieShopped that too. What the hell, reality no longer matters.
Not sure why, but The Gateway pundit ran with it today.
We will see if it gets traction.
Wow. Talk about being right over the target.
There are only a couple of times that the Democrats demand that the media jump into the mix of a story with false or misleading information to muddy the facts of a story.
The last time we saw this was during the debate between Obama, Romney, and Candy Crowley (also regarded Benghazi).
Another example is when Dan Rather presented the fake G.W.Bush document (that CBS still stands by).
Whatever Congress is getting close to must be very serious and horrible.
Anyone colluding to help traitors to the United States then becomes an accessory to treason. I hope CBS considers the consequences of being accessories to treason. It’s serious business boys and girls. It’s not just a crosstown high school rivalry anymore.

We better get some cool rules.....
“In other words, the WH issued a massaged version of the documents.”
Yes. The WH issues two sets of docs with the intent to make one of them seem altered by Republicans when, in actuality, it is the WH that sent both versions.
We have seen them do this type of thing before. Obfuscate.
The Democrats, however, keep forgetting that the internet exists and that if they did this it will come to light (eventually).
I really feel like we are getting close.
This is an old article
I had a neighbor that completely believed the Republicans greased Uncle Ted”s bridge @ Chappaquiddick.
This from the “fake, but accurate” network?
I saw Rep. Jason Chaffetz on Fox this week-end stating that the documents Congress got are different from the ones Judicial Watch released. He said he sat there with them side by side and was shocked that significant portions were different. He was visibly angry.
Yep.
Yep, Sport is right on this... I’m switching to his side.
Wait until the media starts it’s 24 hour attacks against Trey Gowdy or whomever is chosen to head the special committee. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The question is whether any Dems will accept seats on the Committee. If so they will attempt to sabatoge it like you say, using the MSM.
Flack is always heaviest over the target. Trey can take it, but he is working against fascism.I hope he has good personal security. Thats a must.Trey must be clean, he is new in Congress, and I am sure the left has tried to find something to use against him but they have not been able to.
Now the left will either make something up about Trey, or the Obama campaign secret operativs may actually try to eliminate him ( The accident approach).
I hope Trey has a unified set of colleagues.
I look forward to knowing who was telling the (biggest) lie.
(But that is kinduv a long-winded battle cry.)>>>>>>>>
Well how about , “Remember the Alamo!”
Or “Benghazi Four!!!”
Or even , “ WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!”
