It is obvious to anyone with half a brain that he is trying to do to the left what they and RINOs have done to us for years; drift to the middle before the election then cut to their true colors after getting the votes. To do this, he must emphasize the points they agree with, be vague on the others, and then turn hard right after the election. I think anyone who can’t see this is either being intellectually dishonest, or blind. This is why we should look at VOTING RECORDS before elections and not pay so much attention to words. I think it is a risky strategy, he could lose some of his base. But I see why he feels it is necessary; demographics. For the record, I would wholeheartedly support Palin or Cruz over Paul, but would have no problem voting for Rand; his positions in his own words(on his website) and voting record are unmatched on most issues.
He *is* a Democrat, he just uses Republican branding and a faux-libertarian line of bull.
Once this simpleton gets to DC, she starts thinking she's Barbara Boxer. Her real job was to make Olympia Snow look good. Now that Olympia is over, what is the point of her cheerleader and acolyte hanging around?
Hold your nose, vote for her. I suppose she's marginally somehow better than having a commie in the job. BTW, if the RNC really wants this seat, they had better fork over some dough to dum-dum. The com-symp is outspending her 3-1.
We are years away from the election and Paul is merely promoting his libertarianism, there is no big mystery here, he is too liberal and anti-conservative, any faking we saw, was his faking to be conservative, to become a Senator from Kentucky.
Paul wants to change the GOP platform, and not in a good way.
I think he has good reason to do this now. Should he focus on being a senator or president? Either way, there is a lot of planning and strategy. Given the enormous effort involved in a presidential campaign, I sure he just wants to see if the votes are there as early as possible to see if he should commit, or wait until next time around.
Why isn’t Ron Paul in this straw poll?
Why would conservatives support a non-conservative who wants to move the party left?
Why are you promoting such a candidate?
No, he attacked everyone in the Republican race, not necessarily by name, in order to sow discord and hand the election to Obama. His old man did the same thing on behalf of other Demwit candidates. That’s what they’re both about.
Rand Paul endorsed and campaigned for Mitt Romney.
Ron Paul was famously soft on Mitt Romney.

He was famously a weasel, and still is.

Wow, he sure is, attacking Romney for not being Obama/libertarian enough on foreign policy, at the same time he is campaigning for him.
Paul just looks flakier and flakier, he is as scattered brained and slippery, as anyone that we have seen in many a moon.
If you watch the Republican debates, he always pulled his punches against Romney. For instance: He would excoriate Huckabee, Gingrich, etc., for having made comments that he “interpreted” as supportive of some element of Obamacare from years before Obamacare was even a proposal, and meanwhile give Romney a complete pass for Romneycare.
Bump!
Helping a fellow Freeper should be it own reward. A thank you would be nice but it really is optional. Ranting over a twenty dollar gift seems a little petty to me. I apoligize for not pinging the parties involved. I forgot to captured their handles before writing this.
I also sent money, several years ago, in response to a horrible medical story. I sent 50 dollars cash and a nice card with personal note.
I never heard anything from the recipient.
However he did begin posting again to FR.
A simple online FR comment of thanks costs nothing.
Funny how people have time to ask for money, take it, but no time for a free of cost thank you.
NOTE: The person I sent money to was not 2nd Div Vet, nor was it Mesta.
He is consistently rated by conservative group as one of the three most conservative Senators in the US Senate. He is a constitutional conservative with classical liberal leanings. More or less a paleocon. He needs to be closely watched on immigration reform and beaten badly about the head and shoulders went he strays to far into the enemy camp on this issue.
Back in the day the name and address of any gift givers would be written down an personal thank you letter sent. I know this for a fact as I watched the women of the family to exactly that numerous times for wedding showers etc.
I had had a pretty stressful day and just snapped.
Yes, that is exactly how I was trained by my mother to always acknowledge any gift. I don’t think many kids get that kind of instruction anymore. I always call to thank people for sending a card, no gift inside needed. I think it is nice that someone takes the time to send a birthday card. Many times over the last few years, my husband and I go to a wedding, give 50 or 100 in cash and don’t hear from the bride and groom for so many months, you wonder if the card got stolen. Eventually, we do get a card, but after 4 to 6 months, the thank you is rather hollow.
Don’t worry, we’ve all been there.
Take Care and God Bless You.
I will take my chances with him versus another marxist. Unfortunately there is no way a conservative like cruz is going to win. Paul is the only guy we have that can bring morons to our side
