That’s one road to go down. I think you’re ideas are reasoned. It still bothers me.

These people jumped in line in front of GOOD HONEST people who RESPECTED our nation enough to COMPLY with it’s laws. They WANTED desperately to come here. They DIDN’T just come.

So if we register people and keep them here, what have we just said to those people who had the character we desire our citizens to have? We just showed them that cheating really works out great, and being a good human being accounts for nothing.

What is the actual affect of saying the illegals can’t be a citizen for 15 years. They couldn’t be anyway for six. That’s when their green card compliance makes them worthy of applying for citizenship.

So what we’re doing is basically delaying the massive problems of the illegal aliens. Instead of chain migration taking place in seven or eight years, we’ll be looking for it in sixteen or seventeen years.

What’s the magnitude of this problem? We’re looking at anywhere from 6 to 12% of our resident populace being made citizens. And then we can expect two to seven people to be brought over through chain migration. This could mean as much as 25 to 33% of our nation’s populace would be recently arrived people from North, Central, and South America.

Is it going to be any better, when this flood of new voters hits us in 19 to 21 years, instead of ten to twelve? Doesn’t it still swamp our boat?

These people need to be rooted out, and booted out.

If you can’t prove you are a legal U. S. citizen, you should get no services in the United States at all. If they are caught, I’d recommend them being sent home immediately. If they are caught a second time, put them in a stockade for six months. Then deport them. Third offense, five years.

Anyone who doesn’t understand why I am saying this, hasn’t been to Southern California in a while. Went to Dodger stadium yesterday. There part of the game presentation is now is Spanish.

Folks, we’re losing our nation. My state is nearly gone, and yours will be too if you don’t wake up and smell the tea leaves.

It’s time to get tough on this subject.

Back of the line, means the line in other nations, people already waiting to come here. Anything else is preferential. I don’t think it’s right to treat the people who played by the rules in this manner.

Hey D-1 buddy!!! Thanks for chiming in on this.

My thoughts are that if we’re NOT going deport them - no balls to do so - then this is a way to make them pay for jumping front of the folks that did it the right way.

Also, this would make it extremely uncomfortable for the illegals already here. The freebies are turned OFF - no EBTs, no WIC, no welfare - nothing. You work, and you pay taxes like everybody else, and when your probationary period is up (15 years), THEN you get the privilege of being called a Citizen, and all of the rights and obligations that entails.

And - we COULD fastrack the honest people already IN the line to get here, speed up the process for the honest folks - the people who came here and did it the right way.

That’s another “In-Your-Face” to the Illegals. They get NOTHING for free. They earn it. And we’ll see how eager they are to earn it; or they can go the hell back wherever they came from.

I appreciate your welcome on the topic. Sorry to be a bit of an insect in the pudding though.

Two notes of contention...

If a system is set up to make certain immigrants wait 15 years, how long will it be before the ACLU and other Leftist organizations bring suit to label this unequal treatement, and strike down the 15 year aspect of it?

Then you’ve got documents signed, and they get the normal process everyone else does. Back to ground zero.

All it will take is a hearing before the ninth circtuit or another Lefty judge.

Then there’s the issue of putting others on the fast track. What this does is turn up the volume when we’re already in danger of flooding.

If anything, right now we need to 20 to 30 year moratorium on new immigrants across the board.

My one exception would be truly valuable physicists, chemists or some individual who would be likely to contribute some sort of genius to our national being.

“...efore the ACLU and other Leftist organizations bring suit...”

Then Write it into the law that it’s OUT of the purview and untouchable. This is for ILLEGAL aliens only. They broke our laws and p*ssed all over us by coming here the way they did.

They don’t like it, then leave, and come back THROUGH THE SYSTEM.

And as for the Left... I’m all for playing hardball. It’s either THIS way or the f***ing highway. No deal any other way.

“...20 to 30 year moratorium on new immigrants across the board...”

I have no problem with it, other than those who are already in-process.

I don’t see the need to let anyone in, period.

I posted the other day, the population of the USA should be restored to a pre-WW2 level.

Put up a sign: “Go back, we’re closed.”

“...I don’t see the need to let anyone in, period....”

They’re already here; this is a plan to either make them leave, or go through a 15 yer probation period BEFORE they’re entitled to ANY benefits of citizenship.

They broke the law already; now either follow the rules we’re setting up or we WILL make you go home. It’s real simple.

RE :”I don’t see the need to let anyone in, period”

We are once again approaching the time of year, May-July , when the stinkbugs take over my house again.

2011 was the first time.

I believe they sneak in during the Fall when it gets cold and hide out of sight then when it gets warm those two months they come out attracted to the light (to go outside for seasonal mating). Unfortunately they cant get outside so they make a nuisance of themselves around the house. And I mean lots of them too,

Then come early July they are all suddenly gone again(from inside) , within a few days, only a bunch of dead ones behind,

I just flushed one down the toilet a half hour ago.

For the past few years, every summer, insects that I believe to be carpenter ants fall from the light fixture in my bathroom and drown in my toilet.

A few weeks ago I found a colony of moths living in a rolled up old carpet.

Filthy things, insects.

Has anybody ever explained what exactly is ‘broken’ with the current immigration law that needs reform?

The only thing broken is the will to enforce existing law.

Every govt power grab is by design....Manufactured Crisis™...just like the best healthcare system in the world needed *reforming*.

Reforms are NEVER to benefit the makers....only politicians and the takers.

Here I see a few inside during the winter but they don't come out to the living areas in large numbers till ~ May-June when it gets warm.

Then they are all over the house. They don't carry disease but they make a mess and stink if you squash them. last year one was on my bed next to me as I was sleeping and I rolled over and squashed him, yuck

During those warm months each day when I come home from work I vacuum up a bunch of them (4 or 5) off the window-sill (inside) as they are drawn to the sunlight.

Then early July they are gone, that part of the yearly cycle is over.

The way I see it...

Starting this November, we’ll begin cleaning out the stinkbugs... a bunch of them, at least.

Then, by 2016, we should be getting a pretty thorough stinkbug purge.

And yes, they DO make a mess and quite a stink. As a matter of fact, they stink up everything they touch.

I’m sitting here listening to a CD set called “Ronald Reagan In His Own Words”.

I do miss that man terribly.

Hearing his views on America is refreshing, and is a wonderful contrast to the nightmare we have been going through for the past 6 years.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...
