"That's exactly what I said. I said I'm wondering if they're better off under government subsidy, and their young women are having the abortions and their young men are in jail, and their older women and their children are standing, sitting out on the cement porch without nothing to do, you know, I'm wondering: Are they happier now under this government subsidy system than they were when they were slaves, and they was able to have their family structure together, and the chickens and garden, and the people had something to do? And so, in my mind I'm wondering, are they better off being slaves, in that sense, or better off being slaves to the United States government, in the sense of the subsidies. I'm wondering. That's what. And the statement was right. I am wondering."

But since he used the word “Negro”, the truth of his statement will be lost in the rage over saying black in Spanish...
That is the point. Bundy just doesn't get it, and too many FRiends here are supporting slavery.
Maybe this is what Reid meant by saying something would happen to Bundy....
a “hi-tech lynching” to borrow a phrase...
I wondered how long it would take the Rats to pull out the “Race Card”.
Not long. Not long at all.
None of this has any bearing on what we all witnessed last week where an out of control, militarized federal government brought their storm troopers to protect a freaking turtle and steal an old mans cows.
Those were my exact thoughts. This statement is off target based on what is at stake in this central issue. He should have stayed on point. The MSM will have a field day and Bundy will lose his audience.
Shame.
Even the Glen Beck's, Rand Paul's of the world are tripping all over their poor lil politically correct hearts to rail on this guy.
Is it really to show the world...hey, look at me. I'm not a bigot, nope, not me.
not exactly what the NYT homosexual reported.
IOW a slave here or a slave there is still a slave.
IOOW for those from NYC slavery is bad.
He’s standing by what he said.
**************
He should stand by it and say it again — pounding his fist on the table and ridiculing the other side for being dumb enough to believe that he was defending slavery rather than pointing out that the welfare system is keeping blacks in servitude. No more slinking away due to failure to b e politically correct in speech.
Why should anyone care what Bundy thinks is best for the happiness and well being of black people?
Isn't the dependence so many US citizens have on the government providing for them a form of slavery? It isn't just blacks who are suffering from a government that gives people everythning they need....except the opportunity for self-sufficiency.
It's the new slavery.
If I chose to live on a plantation, trading my time working in the field for a home and food, that is my choice. Slaves had no choice. They could not leave. Their children could not leave. That is the antithesis of the American dream.
The Tea Party and all “like” freedom causes will be cast into that net.
Starting to wish he never spoke. Grrrrrr
This reminds me of the two candidates we had last cycle that ended up torpedoing their own campaigns - wasn’t there one in Missouri and another one - (something about you can’t get pregnant with rape?) Opposition research is out there recording their every word and sure enough two Republicans stepped in it.
I wish it doesn’t affect all of us but it does.
We are slaves. Look at everything you think is yours and don’t pay the tax or fee on it and see how fast YOUR STUFF is removed from you.
Ah, but they’re enslaving TWO classes of people now.
The recipients are slaves of dependency,
and the providers are slaves to the guns of gov’t, forcing them to provide or else.
. . . when they were slaves, and they was able to have their family structure together, and the chickens and garden, and the people had something to do . . .
That is, to put it mildly, a rosy depiction of life as a slave. Tough to defend.
No - government dependance is a choice, slavery is not. Dr Ben Carson is an example of someone who made the choice against dependance, a choice he wouldn’t have been able to make if he were a slave.
Yea, this has to be a record for them. Astonishing how fast. Wonder who the next groups will be.
socialism = serfdom
