David Corn of Mother Jones has assembled a number of clips from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) over the years criticizing former President Ronald Reagan for the budgets he signed into law. In some cases, Paul declared Reagan worse on budgetary issue than his predecessor, former President Jimmy Carter.

Paul later responded to the Mother Jones piece with a statement: “I have always been and continue to be a great supporter of Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts and the millions of jobs they created. Clearly spending during his tenure did not lessen, but he also had to contend with Democrat majorities in Congress.”
If it was highly unusual for Rand to make such bizarre comments, then yeah. I would agree that this is liberal agit-prop. Even if Breitbart reported it.
But becauase Rand Paul is DAILY showing his true colors as a libertarian loonie and new reports are ALWAYS coming in that portray him as no better that dear old dad....
Then it is easy to see that Rand Paul is no real conservative.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

and in addition, his followers are very young, very socially liberal, not likely to vote for any Republican in national election except Rand.
And he knows this, and gladly has them all along, does nothing to dissuade them.
Best way to mitigate being taken out of context is not to bash Reagan in order to promote your wacko dad to Ronulans who were already worshiping Ron.
In other words, the Reagan-bashing by Rand was purely gratuitous, uncalled for and not necessary.
But the holier-than-thou wing of the libertarian faction can’t stop themselves from sneering and smearing good conservatives.
It disgusts me that after his numerous trips into liberalism and skirting the edges of it often, people here still make excuses for him. And they are no better than any other liberal when they do it.
This ‘have my cake and eat it too’ mentality is for the birds. If people want to sit at the conservative table for dinner, they should do it. But don’t bring their moderate at best POS ‘date’ and expect everyone there to accept it.

Well, we know by his actions, Ron Jr. is absolutely a company man. He proves it about once a week.
This is counter to what history proves. Reagan came into office with a huge inflation percentage and a very large debt. He lowered taxes and in a short time reversed all that. The economy Clinton came into was Reagan’s doing. Carter was a complete disaster when it came to the economy. I cannot think of anyone worse.
That’s the same stirring defense Harry Reid used when called on his “Obamacare complainers are liars” libel.
And Rand’s not a conservative.

If it was Mother Jones then that makes sense (a libtard hit piece) and Rand Paul’s response also makes sense- Reagan DID cut taxes, but a Democrap-controlled congress broke their promise to cut spending
Who again are those strong leaders who fought wars and won them and then brought our troops home in in less than 5 years?
The Pauls aren’t conservatives, and while they self-identify as Republicans, they are obviously Democrats in the good old KKK tradition.
