Every day, the push toward national legalization of marijuana seems more and more inevitable. As more and more politicians and noted individuals come out in favor of legalizing or at least decriminalizing different amounts of pot, the mainstream acceptance of the recreational use of the drug seems like a bygone conclusion.
But before we can talk about legalization, have we fully understood the health effects of marijuana?

If it is legal and uncle Jack, brother Tom and even Mom takes a hit now and then little Timmy will have NO inhibitions. FACT.
Crock.
What was the question? I was listening to the Allman Brothers.
Move to Colorado.
It is also possible to drink 6 or 8 beers a week with no long term neurological issues.
The evidence is that even occasional pot use contributes to psychosis and PERMANENT intellectual impairment.
Anyone who has spent time around dopers knows they are often 6 bricks short of a load.A drunk can get sober and become a fairly normal person as stoner non-high still talks: “Like, uh, you know, I sorta think, well maybe, what was the question?” Even when they haven’t used for years.
At least that is my experience
Mind your own business.
Here’s the difference.
The affects of alcohol take longer to be felt than the affects of pot.
As a result, the pot smoker is done, while the drinker has deluded himself that he can have more.
Irrelevant: monkeys don't mind having monkeys on their backs. :)
Of course not. Which is why these items should not be used by the under 18 year old crowd.
By adults is another matter.
if they onlyhurt themselves, super.
in the real world addicts of all kinds accidentally and/ordeliberately kill, rob, assault, hurt others physically and emotionally, lose jobs, can’t keep jobs, destroy families.
There is some circumstantial evidence to support you assertion:

We will know with more certainty after the trial, as pot is going to be on center stage, as it will for the kid who jumped off a balcony.
I predict we here in CO will rescind the pot laws.
The stupid are too stupid to realize how stupid they are. Intelligent people who are honest with themselves will recognize these shortcomings and try to correct or work around them
No, it’s just the dam researchers forgot what they were supposed to do.
I didn't say moderate drinking was as injurious as marijuana use or injurious at all, but it's undeniable that it causes big problems with some people;i.e. alcoholics. And you're right, drinkers usually seem normal when not bombed. But that can depend on how long they've been drunks.
I don’t know ?
My name is John.
I’m an alcoholic.
I drink out of boredom.
I drink, because I think, the only way I can express my thoughts is to get in an uninhibited state. Most people I meet or engage in conversation are completely clueless.
When I meet a “Smart” person, I have no interest in drinking etc..
Sadly, most people are dull or thoughtless.
I’m not a very social person, I know.

FOR PEACE!
FOR POT!
FOR LEGAL HOOKERS!
FOR RON PAUL!
We’re talking about marijuana....pay attention!
well, having a bunch of self inflicted losers who then are a drain on society, cannot perform work right, cannot think right, cannot make judgements right...and you demand that society PREVENT STOPPING this self abuse is actually Desireable???
You have more screws loose than the dopers...
Quite frankly, I don’t care if some people want to smoke pot. And, I don’t want them to go to jail either. I also don’t want to pay for their rehab or give them preferential medical treatment. When they want treatment, they will have to rely on the charity of their neighbors.
