DEA raids woman`s Shorewood home after she shops at garden center

A woman in the southwest suburbs says she woke up to find armed DEA agents pointing guns at her -- all because she shopped at a hydroponic garden center.
Angela Kirkling was driven out of her bed in Shorewood at gunpoint. The DEA had started investigating her because she had made a purchase at a hydroponics shop.
Agents say they thought she was growing pot indoors. Police had also been digging through her garbage and tracking her electrical bill.

FALSIFICATION IN OFFICIAL MATTERS
Section 641:2
641:2 False Swearing. – A person is guilty of a misdemeanor if:
I. He makes a false statement under oath or affirmation or swears or affirms the truth of such a statement previously made and he does not believe the statement to be true if:
(a) The falsification occurs in an official proceeding, as defined in RSA 641:1, II, or is made with a purpose to mislead a public servant in performing his official function; or
(b) The statement is one which is required by law to be sworn or affirmed before a notary or other person authorized to administer oaths; or
II. He makes inconsistent statements under oath or affirmation, both within the period of limitations, one of which is false and not believed by him to be true. In a prosecution under this section, it need not be alleged or proved which of the statements is false but only that one or the other was false and not believed by the defendant to be true.
III. No person shall be guilty under this section if he retracts the falsification before it becomes manifest that the falsification was or would be exposed.

But why were they interested in her anyway? Recording license plates at the gardening business? Credit card receipts? Warranty info?
Thank you for posting that...that issue will be addressed; my wife is still stressed (frisked by a male officer while I was never searched), and it is affecting her health...the topic needs to be approached gingerly.
Seems like every day we hear about how the federal govt. is targeting it’s own citizens for some reason or another. They won’t go after ILLEGALS because they would be to dangerous. Nothing but a bunch of JACK BOOTED THUGS.

Amid recent revelations that the NSA has been secretly spying on phone records and the Internet activity of people in the United States, transparency reports filed by the California utilities companies and obtained by the ACLU of California show that a significant amount of data about the energy use of Californians could be ending up in the hands of the government too. In 2012, a single California utility company, San Diego Gas & Electric, disclosed the smart meter energy records of over 4,000 of its customers pursuant to legal demands – and it’s unclear whether this information was turned over in a private lawsuit, to local law enforcement, or even to the federal government.

No danger...she was just coming home from work via the doctor’s office...she had just been told by her specialist to ‘avoid stress’. My understanding is that a male may frisk IF no female is available. (There wasn’t.) Still...why frisk her, and not me? I know where that leads in MY mind.

I never have approved of no knock searches.
In most places they may detain a woman until a female cop is called or an appropriate substitute. I hope your wife didn't threaten to beat the hell out of them. (My Dear EX Would Have, the beating part.)
Get a copy of the Rules and Regs and hold them accountable. If you really want to piss them off find a lawyer, on a contingency basis, and sue the hell out of them.
Find a Lawyer on contingency, tell him the truth, a must, and sue everyone involved.
