The game is up for climate change believers
Telegraph (UK) ^ | 06 Apr 2014 | Charles Moore

Most of us pay some attention to the weather forecast. If it says it will rain in your area tomorrow, it probably will. But if it says the same for a month, let alone a year, later, it is much less likely to be right. There are too many imponderables.

The theory of global warming is a gigantic weather forecast for a century or more. However interesting the scientific inquiries involved, therefore, it can have almost no value as a prediction. Yet it is as a prediction that global warming (or, as we are now ordered to call it in the face of a stubbornly parky 21st century, “global weirding”) has captured the political and bureaucratic elites. All the action plans, taxes, green levies, protocols and carbon-emitting flights to massive summit meetings, after all, are not because of what its supporters call “The Science”. Proper science studies what is – which is, in principle, knowable – and is consequently very cautious about the future – which isn’t. No, they are the result of a belief that something big and bad is going to hit us one of these days.

Some of the utterances of the warmists are preposterously specific. In March 2009, the Prince of Wales declared...

--snip--

Last week, the latest IPCC report made the usual warnings about climate change, but behind its rhetoric was a huge concession. The answer to the problems of climate change lay in adaptation, not in mitigation, it admitted. So the game is up.

Scientists, Rupert Darwall complains, have been too ready to embrace the “subjectivity” of the future, and too often have a “cultural aversion to learning from the past”. If they read this tremendous book they will see those lessons set out with painful clarity.

I think the garden of Eden was a metaphor. In reality, Bush Jr. introduced the SUV and told Eve it’s OK to drive it. Then she started the first Gulf War just for the oil change, but told Adam to drive her there and pay for it with his Kapitalist credit card. Anyway, I could go on and on about this but you see my point.

Bottom line: it is a direct attack on middle class American wealth and prosperity.

We should be absolutely certain that it is true before we burden Americans with increased food costs, heating costs, gasoline costs, your son’s tennis shoes,.......everything.

They will attempt to re-write the laws of physics, even the laws of mathematics they do that.

If necessary, they will attempt to undermine all of science rather than admit their errors, because that will mean that they are dupes, which in turn will mean that they are stupid fools.

Dark Matter.

Well, 93 percent of some scientists from the climatology field of experimental weather models say anthropogenic warming is happening, and they get paid to research it. Who ya’ gonna’ believe, the weather, or paid experts?

...the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.

A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there’s a legal limit to the snow here
...
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
...
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the morning fog must disappear.

I think you're right. The buzz words and "righteousness" of "environmental sustainability" and Agenda 21. To exercise this "righteousness" they need to have or invent a major problem on which to capitalize. It's not unlike Socialism/Marxism which also sees every real or imagined problem as an opportunity and excuse for more government. The religion of both - their agenda - comes before the respect and dignity of the God-given freedom of individuals to live their lives. It's the anti-Christian view that man was made for earth and is secondary to it vs. the Christian view that God made the earth as a gift to man and to bless man.

It's really a religion that excludes God and puts man as the "savior." There's no faith at all in the all-sufficient provision of a God who created the world for man and supplied it with enough to sustain a completely populated earth, which is originally what he gave Adam to do.

It actually comes down a faith-based knowledge/belief that God has created the earth for man and has supplied more than enough to sustain its present and any future population -

- OR -

- the fear-based belief in some arbitrary point where the earth will no longer sustain its population.

If you drill down far enough, you tap into the spirit of anti-Christ. Sooner or later, this will usher in the end of the age.

——adaptation——

This is irony at it’s best. Moonbats can’t or won’t adapt.

Does that mean they are becoming conservatives? It is conservatives that like the old ways and are accused of having problems adapting.

They’ll be remembered like the “Earth is the center of the solar system’ and ‘leeches make good medicine’ crowds. Conformity, not wanting to think for yourself - not of such great value in science. Or music. Or anything.

I wish more Americans realized that “climate change” is another attempt of the left to destroy the middle class, especially the white middle class. Liberals profess their love for the middle class, but they despise them. Just like 0bamacare, the Nostrildomis-Malarkey cap-n-tax bill would have been a disaster for the middle class.

The Sahara Desert was once a lush jungle. From

http://www.livescience.com/4180-sahara-desert-lush-populated.html

Quote: “The climate change at [10,500 years ago] which turned most of the [3.8 million square mile] large Sahara into a savannah-type environment happened within a few hundred years only, certainly within less than 500 years,” said study team member Stefan Kroepelin of the University of Cologne in Germany.

That climate change existed 10,500 to 7,300 years ago before the Sahara turned into a desert, had nothing to do with people (or cars). Climate change comes from the Sun!

No, that was all due to SUVs.

They are so evil that they can cause climate change even prior to their invention.

"Greenland...tropical paradise"

I'm very curious about that period. I find it difficult to believe other northern areas didn't experience the same kind of warming. And if the northern climes all warmed (as I think they did), why is there no record of flooding on the coasts of Europe with many seaside habitations inundated by flood water as the Warmists claim would occur by substantially warmer temps?

But the Warmists refuse to discuss that period of time. If they acknowledge that vast swings in temps can occur with minimal or no human involvement, their whole shaky theory crashes down.
