Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our
Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, fatima, for preparing the Canteen
for todays activities.
Way too many posts to find out
if my choices would be there so...
Here's a couple from The Steeldrivers that I like:
Midnight On The Mountain
Blue Side of the Mountain
Now, gotta make my rounds before people show up for work.
But, please stay right where you are.
Chat up the military and/or their families.
Remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM ~ DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM
FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Good morning EG ((HUGS))
Glad your area is safe. Bad time of year for storms as the patterns shift. But hoping spring is coming to all the states now.
Have a good day.

There are a couple more hurricane songs that are on my “to get” list. One is “The Miami Storm” by Vernon Dalhart (1926), which is about the 1926 Miami hurricane. Dalhart chronicled many of the natural and man-made disasters of the 1920’s. The other is “The Porto Rico Storm” by Carson Robison (1928) which recounts the 1928 hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico before hitting Florida and creating a storm tide on the shores of Lake Okeechobee that killed 2,000 people—a bigger death toll than Katrina in 2005, yet this hurricane is largely forgotten. Neither of these tunes have made it to Youtube.

I will put those on my “to look for” list. I’m fairly good at scouting out old music, but you’ve told me of some I’ve never heard of. You know your stuff when it comes to oldtime music, I’m just a piker who loves it!

Good morning dear ((HUGS))
cool? Sorry to hear that. However, it’s a little cool here this morning, too, and cloudy. But it still beats the 20s AND it’ll be spring-like this weekend.
Have you planted anything?

I’ve got beans, carrots, garlic, onions, spinach, tomatoes, turnips growing already. Will try to get some pepper plants this weekend. The hardware store hadn’t gotten any in yet.

I was really moved by this song. I also loved the pipes. My grandfather was from Scotland.
