According to Dr. Olga Bogomolets, a Maidan leader and a candidate in Ukraines slated May presidential elections, the photographs shown to her by The Daily Beast provide unique insight into what took place on February 20.
Remember that video of a conversation between Estonias Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton that was supposed to "prove" how the Maidan activists were the snipers? The eye witness mentioned in that leak was the same Olga Bogomolets that is now pointing at the Russian Federation's Alfa units.
This was the incriminating passage in that conversation:
And second, what was quite disturbing, this same Olga [Bogomolets] told as well that all the evidence shows that the people who were killed by snipers from both sides, among policemen and then people from the streets, that they were the same snipers killing people from both sides, the Estonian FM stressed.
Kiev snipers hired by Maidan leaders - leaked EU's Ashton phone tape
What we now understand is that the confusion that Olga experienced while under fire from both sides does not necessarily incriminate the Maidan. It simply proves that more than one professionally trained group was shooting at the demonstrators.

Ping.

I think it would be foolish to think this couldn’t happen in the US. Just label the Tea Party as terrorists, weapons dealers, or anti-govt radicals.
My brother has a coworker who has a Ukrainian wife. Her family reported bodies of Russian soldiers in the streets. I didn’t get where or when. I certainly can’t verify this. Just passing it along.

Snipers who shot people on the Maidan identified - the GPU.
General Prosecutor of Ukraine has established identities of the snipers who shot people on the Instytutska street in Kiev.
First Deputy Prosecutor General Nikolai Golomsha stated that involvement in the mass executions of people in the center of the Ukrainian capital is investigated, including foreign nationals, reports Tsenzor.NET citing TSN. Facts of involvement in hiring snipers by the opposition at the time have not been confirmed.

The law enforcement already has the addresses of the placements of snipers, and the lists of people who participated in the shooting of civilians. Snipers' weapons have been seized, and as of today, it is verified by the investigating authorities. Earlier, media reported that snipers that shot the Maidan demonstrators were earning each $ 40,000 a day.
"It simply proves that more than one professionally trained group was shooting at the demonstrators."
Follow the money. My guess is that however many groups were there and firing on protesters the money for them all flowed from the same source.
The Russians would be stupid not to fund an anti-Russian group that advocated shooting pro-Russian protesters and the EU/US would likewise be stupid to not fund a pro-Russian group committed to shooting anti-Russian protesters. Such groups being active doesn't mean they're funded by and approved of by those they are most logically tied to.
"The eye witness mentioned in that leak was the same Olga Bogomolets that is now pointing at the Russian Federation's Alfa units."
That queers the story somewhat IMHO. Changing stories are noise, not information.
In the "Information Age" when there are so may 24/7 mouths to feed it's easy to get various news hungry outlets hooked on a source and spread disinformation through them and equally easy to get stories intended to undermine a worthwhile source spread.
I don't know a source I can trust there so I suspect all of the groups equally of planting whatever they think will help them and hurt their opponents. I also believe every group involved is ready, willing, and able to carry out targeted killings when it serves their purposes including both the US/EU and Russian supported factions.
The only thing I know for sure is that no strong Ukrainian leader capable of bringing any order to the Ukraine has emerged and there doesn't seem to be any such leader on the horizon. Barring a such a leader appearing, the Ukraine is the 2014 replay of the collapse of Yugoslavia. Russia has already taken what it saw as the most important part of the country ensuring that the infrastructure there will be spared should NATO decide to use air-strikes in support of a particular faction if serious fighting starts. Whether it wants more remains to be seen.
If Russia does want more, I believe it'll drop in their lap without any further military action beyond posturing. The EU and the US are absolutely not going to back a Ukrainian leader they can't totally control, so, the EU and the US are going to negotiate until the cows come home or the Ukrainians start killing one another with gusto.
JMHO
That was sneaky—posting this while our Kremlin-based Borscht Brigade is sleeping.
Amazing that pro-Putin crowd seriously believe “Maidan snipers” could operate in the city with thousands of Berkut, SBU and other security formations’ officers all around the place.
They are sharper dressed than the bin laden types we trained in Afghanistan. Times they are a changing.

All bamy has to do is pull out those Greek columns and make another speech. Kerry & Biden could stand up there with him. Then all the earth’s people would be compliant again. Like they were last time he did it.
Paul Craig Roberts, Lew Rockwell, Joel Skousen and the rest of the over-heated Putin Youth have told us that "according to their sources", all the mayhem in Kiev was the work of Nazis, not Ukrainians who want to be free.
Many FReepers seem to have developed a Putin fetish which is based on their hatred for Obama. They let this blind them to the truth that Russia is still our enemy and Putin is a vicious murdering swine.
I don't care if Ukraine wants to join the EU. That's their choice. If we value freedom, then we support their decision to make this choice even if we don't agree.
