Pollster Celinda Lake's advice to fellow Democrats to take a midway position in the 2014 congressional campaigns is flawed because it can't be sold as honest.
Reacting to results from her bipartisan Battleground Poll that show Obamacare to be a political loser, Lake said: "Don't defend it. Say it was flawed from the beginning and we're going to fix it."
Note that she didn't advise to reject it outright, apparently because she knows that's never going to fly with Obama and the Democratic establishment and probably because it would be tantamount to an admission that the party has failed in its central policy "achievement."
But her advice to adopt a middle-of-the-road position is not much different. To say the law was flawed from the beginning is a damning admission, especially considering how inflexible the Democrats were when they crammed this albatross through Congress.
I just read a story reminding us that Democrats had a chance to try a more moderate approach in 2009, when then-Sen. Max Baucus warned that Democrats "could ram through a health care overhaul on a partisan vote" but "wouldn't be able to sustain it." But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid ended up scuttling Baucus' attempt to scale back the bill. So Democrats had a chance to moderate it, but they went full-bore defiance and stuffed it down our throats.
How is it going to play now if they say the following? "We see now the error of our ways; we shouldn't have been so extreme. Give us another chance, because we only want to help you."

This is what I don’t get.
At least for anyone who is not a low information voter, how can you listen to Democrats saying that Obamacare was flawed, but that now Democrats will fix it?
If Obamacare was so flawed, and as we recall, passed without a single Republican vote, why should we trust Democrats to fix it?
If Obamacare was so flawed, why did Democrats force it on us, knowing it was so flawed?
Or if they want to say that they only learned it was so flawed after they forced it on us, what does that say about Democrats judgement in passing legislation on any subject, besides healthcare??? If they have such bad judgement, how can we put our trust in Democrats to pass good laws to deal with our nation’s problems????
Certain people will vote Democrat no matter what, but, anyone with any sense, regardless of their political leanings, would have to say that it’s absurd for Democrats to say their law was flawed, but now re-elect them to fix what was wrong.

BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage.
THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE CIRCA 2009 In one particular case, Sen Mary Landrieu (Dim-La), connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million more federal dollars than had been appropriated.
Obama and Reid no doubt were elated .......here was a way to buy all the necessary Democrat votes
Through an (ahem) error, instead of $200 million, $4.3 BILLION for Landrieu was attached to the Obamacare bill.
How $4.3 billion to Landrieu came to be attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, is yet another indictment of the Obamacare atrocity.
CAN YOU SAY MONEY LAUNDERING? The $4.3 billion to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare.

Perhaps the Democrats mean it is settled law until they decide to change something?? They might mean that Republicans shouldn’t change it or repeal it, but that good Democrats are allowed to make changes.
The whole thing stretches intellectual honesty, in my opinion.

So far it has cost millions upon millions of people their jobs. Democrats in congress have exempted themselves from obamacare.
