At the federal level, the impeachment process is a two-step procedure. The House of Representatives must first pass, by a simple majority of those present and voting, articles of impeachment, which constitute the formal allegation or allegations. Upon passage, the defendant has been “impeached”. Next, the Senate tries the accused. In the case of the impeachment of a president, the Chief Justice of the United States presides over the proceedings. For the impeachment of any other official, the Constitution is silent on who shall preside, suggesting that this role falls to the Senate’s usual presiding officer. This may include the impeachment of the vice president, although legal theories suggest that allowing a defendant to be the judge in his own case would be a blatant conflict of interest. If the Vice President did not preside over an impeachment (of anyone besides the President), the duties would fall to the President pro tempore of the Senate.
To convict the accused, a two-thirds majority of the senators present is required. Conviction removes the defendant from office. Following conviction, the Senate may vote to further punish the individual by barring him from holding future federal office, elected or appointed. Conviction by the Senate does not bar criminal prosecution. Even after an accused has left office, it is possible to disqualify the person from future office or from certain emoluments of his prior office (such as a pension). If there is no charge for which a two-thirds majority of the senators present vote “guilty”, the defendant is acquitted and no punishment is imposed.

Correct for many reasons. If 100% of Congress in both houses were Republican, he still would not be impeached far less removed from office.
The leadership of the RINO party does not have the inclination nor the balls to even contemplate impeachment.

You don’t understand politics.... Impeachment is a POLITICAL action.
Do you not think that from the minute it gets seriously spoken about it won’t be spun as a racist attack?
Politics is not engineering... FACTS DON’T MATTER in politics, if you can swindle the electorate that’s all that matters.
There has only been 2 impeachments in the history of this country. Neither resulted in a conviction.
Now, the reality is we don’t need 1 democrat to file articles of impeachment, its a simple majority in the house... If the republicans were serious about impeaching to make a political statement and standing for what is right, they could draw up articles of impeachment TODAY... only need a simple majority to pass them.
Clinton who was caught on tape lying under oath could only get a 50-50 vote in the Senate, so no way a Senate conviction is likely to happen... So if the point to do this is to call witnesses and make a statement the Republicans in he house could do that at any time and as you can see they aren’t.
Now, if you get to 67 republicans in the Senate, or you see a big enough faction of democratic senators realize that the long term health of their party is at stake then you might see something change, but the way things are on the ground right now, not going to happen.

The Republicans alone will not impeach Obama unless public sentiment waxes to unprecedented levels.
THE DEMOCRATS, on the other hand, will gin up anti-Obama sentiment if Obamacare becomes an albatross in 2014 (if Democrats lose seats in very safe territory). They will use the media to report the scandals that Obama presided over, raise their hands in ignorance and say “we didn’t know this guy was THIS bad,” and impeach him to get back 2016.
Count on it.
Washington is a tough state to find Republicans.

I took the time to read through them. It was an education.
To save you the trouble, its a cult of personality. Nothing more. Obama could be caught with the dead girl in bed with him while sodomizing the underage white male and still not be impeached. It’s really, literally the case.
This guy over there is a legend. He helped co-author the book against Palin, blah, blah, blah. His name is Will Pitt. He got so screwed, so victimized by Obamacare that he actually went up and posted that he had been duped, and knowingly now that he thinks about it.
By the end of the interminable thread, he had been banned from posting on his own thread, and there was a ‘Jury’ convened to decide whether to ban him from DU at large.
His offense: Venting his spleen by telling the truth, and calling Obama an effing used car salesman. All he did was relay the facts of his situation.
So, I will tell you that it will never happen, and even if he allows the Chinese to take the Grand Canyon for defaulting on US Treasuries, he will never be impeached.
Should the coastal cities be nuked, and Obama, out of principle and out of a concern for the ecology of the entire world, fail to retaliate by firing our missiles, he would not be impeached.
There is nothing, nothing, he could do to be impeached. For the first time in its history, the United States fails the three point test of a free market - it no longer guarantees the right to assembly and speech, and you no longer have the ability to enforce your contracts in impartial courts.
What I find funny is all the white shoe consulting firms that for years talked about the BRIC’s - Brazil, Russian, India, and China being the drivers of the global economy going forward. India is the only country where you’ve got a shot at enforcing your contracts. Russia, Brazil, and China, you never had a shot and if you were dumb enough to invest there (GM, VW, GE, Coke, Pepsi), then you deserved what eventually happened to each one of them. (asses handed to them, IP stolen from them, rival plants opening up literally across the street from them)
So, yes, never. It will never happen. We will eventually meet intelligent life from another planet. Jesus will return. The Mariners will win a World Series. Obama will never be impeached.

Obama’s transgressions rise above the level of calling for mere impeachment.
Not with Boner, Cantor and the GOP Establishment in charge of the House. Limbaugh is part of the problem because he provides them cover.
I’m not convinced that voter fraud didn’t happen, big time, on November ‘12, and, because nothing was done to 100% verify voter fraud as well as making sure that it doesn’t happen again, ever, I’m convinced that voter fraud will happen again on November ‘14, on November ‘16, and beyond. Turning the next wave of illegal immigrants into pro-leftist voters is another problem for “everything conservative”. The left, already, controls way too much for the present POTUS to, ever, be Impeached, and the left is doing all that they can do to, successfully, maintain their political power, for the long-term.
Exactly, that is the only way impeachment will happen.. The dems have to turn on him, and the only way that happens is if they realize their party is at stake.... And anything short of a complete ROUTE of unprecedented proportions I doubt you’ll see it happen.
Take the Senate and he can be ‘impeached in place’.

Well not powerless, as he’s shown he will completely ignore the limits of the constitution.
The republicans will retake the Senate this fall, that is a given, the only question is by how many seats.
This will further limit what Obama can do, but don’t think anything short of throwing him out of office will force him to obey the law... and that only happens if DEMOCRATS turn on him.
