Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay faces a preliminary misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated and four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance after being arrested Sunday night.
According to Hamilton County (Ind.) police, Irsay was arrested in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel at about 3 a.m. ET. Irsay was observed stopping in the middle of the road and failed to signal when pulling over.
"During the course of the investigation, Irsay subsequently failed several roadside field sobriety tests," police said in a statement.
Several Schedule IV bottles of prescription medication were found in Irsay's car. "Multiple prescription drugs were discovered in pill bottles," police said. "These Schedule IV prescription drugs were not associated with any prescription bottles found in the vehicle." Irsay was detained, with bail set at $22,500.

Start over?
Anyone who has ever watched Irsay respond to questions at a news conference, could tell the guy was high on something.
One time, every other word was “uh” . Kinda like watching Obama.........
is that normally something cited? like a test, or something? Otherwise...seems pretty petty. I would think the DWI would be enough, eh?
I guess he couldn’t afford a driver?
Jim “my daddy gave me a footbal team” Irsay is an elitist jerk. My guess is the phrase “Do you know who I am” was used at some point and didn’t go over too well with the arresting officer.
ah....gotcha.
Good thing he didn’t reach for a cane...
That bail is a joke. A complete, absolute flat-out joke.
Irsay is not just an extremely rich man, he has a long history of drug and alcohol problems that everyone has known about for years. And frankly, as a free man he's a danger not just to himself, but to those around him in the community, whether it is his intent to be one or not.
Crap like this is why so many people in this country fume about the inherent unfairness in our justice system.
Affluenza?
Probably the reason they pulled him over in the first place...the police sometimes have ‘saturation patrols’ where they pull people over for any infraction...just to see what they might find.
These patrols are usually late at night and where the drunks drive.
I was pulled over for a burnt out license plate light during one of these...the car has two plate lights, and its actually a challenge to even see that one is burned out, but they did. (I wasn’t drinking and was sent on my way).
What really gets me totally irate is that the taxpayers made this guy a billionaire (he’s one of the few NFL owners who is not independently wealthy) and the media gushes when he donates 5 grand to some charity.
My daughter lives close to the Hamilton County jail where he was booked and jailed for the night. She said it was a media zoo.
I guess the cop is a big Payton Manning fan.
Local media said he was stopped several times in the middle of the street, etc.
This guy is a long time doper, so it comes as no surprise.
His father Robert was a raging alcoholic, the gene pool is there.
I’m not sure about saturation patrol, but he was pulled over on a street going into one of the priciest subdivisions (Village of Clay Terrace) in the priciest suburb (Carmel) of town.
LOL Jimmy is a long time doper. Pure theory on my part, but I’m thinking this was one of many times it has happened and the cops decided to finally get him off the street.
Look at the sheep delighting over another arrest, another 10K+ for the local courts. When it’s their turn others will thrill. “To Protect and to Serve...” Suckers.
Irsay was one of the owners who publicly opposed Rush’s inclusion in the group who were going to purchase the St Louis Rams. He said Limbaugh would not be the kind of person the NFL wants to associate with given his views. Looks like Irsay is the kind of person the NFL does not want to associate with.
Like father, like son !
