Saturday European officials indicated two of the people on board were using passports that had been stolen in Thailand. On Sunday Malaysia’s transport minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, said Malaysian intelligence officials were also checking the identities of two other passengers, according to The Associated Press.
“All the four names are with me and have been given to our intelligence agencies,” Hishammuddin said, according to The AP. “We do not want to target only the four; we are investigating the whole passenger manifest. We are looking at all possibilities.”

I am trying to find the video of the bald guy saying they all had visas that I viewed this morning but can’t figure out what news story had it. He wasnt sitting at a press conference in the video.
I don’t understand what you mean by “chips”. Are you talking about the passports, or something else. If anybody wanted anything (other than credit for killing a bunch of innocent people) it’s at the bottom of the sea right now.
Department of Civil Aviation director-general Azaruddin Abdul Rahman said on Sunday there were only two such passengers, not four as earlier reported by the media.
“We have CCTV recordings of them from check-in until boarding and departure,” he said at a press conference on Sunday.
One more key thing:
Mr Azaruddin also confirmed that five passengers did not board the MH370 flight, and their baggage were removed from the cargo. He did not say why they did not board the plane.
Hmmm. I wonder if that’s just a CYA statement, though, because surely, unless Malaysian or Chinese immigration services have a mole, the stolen passports would have turned up during the visa process.
I had my passport stolen in Europe years ago. They issue you another one with a different number, so if those old numbers suddenly come back into use, it pops up immediately. I did read that possibly the Malaysian security authorities didn’t subscribe to the Interpol service that supplies the database of stolen numbers.
Data from Interpol show there were 39 million lost or stolen passports as at the end of last year.

I'm assuming it wasn't a hijacking because I figured that probably wouldn't have resulted in the sudden, catastrophic demise of the aircraft.
I still cant figure out the time line.
The story that I posted says this:
He said one reason could be that the pilot was trying to return to Kuala Lumpur International Airport from where the plane had taken off 50 minutes earlier. Normally, this happened if the pilot was unable to proceed as planned, and he would normally report this to air traffic control.
If he turned 50 minutes into it..how did he fly for several more hours as has been reported.
Are the oil slicks that far away from where the plane was suppose to be traveling?
Its awfully convenient that something happened one minute before they got into Vietnamese airspace. What’s up with that?
Well, I don’t know, they are saying that same airline had a plane crash during a highjacking some years ago.
I suppose if the pilots resist they can lose control and the plane can crash, although clearly that is not the intent of a highjacking.
It’s certainly possible that they wanted to wipe out the firm’s knowledge people, especially if they were going to do training in China (in which case, this might be a Chinese Muslim attack). Still, they could have accomplished that with only one or possibly two terrorists.
Of course, we still don’t know what happened to the plane or where it is, or even if all four suspicious passengers aboard were connected (except for the two that bought their tickets to Amsterdam together). It seems to me that it would be unlikely if they were just a coincidence, however.
Either way, it does seem odd that they would have gotten so many electronics people (including the IBM guy from the US).
It’s pretty interesting that not much information is being revealed about 5 people who did not board and their luggage was taken off the aircraft.
The report now is that it is only two people on board with fake info....but...still no word that I can find about the 5 people who did not get to board.

Maybe the aircraft was shot down by a naval vessel conducting military exercises in the area? Where have we heard that before?

I keep thinking of the movies where something has to happen before you get in some other countries airspace.
You see it all the time in the movies.
So what was significant about Vietnamese airspace?? How does it go missing just 1 minute before their airspace?
And is that where the Jet was turned around?
Air traffic control received a signal from the plane about one minute before it entered Vietnamese airspace, the Vietnamese government said in a statement. Air traffic control then lost all contact, including a radar signal.
