Chipotle lovers everywhere have been fussing and fretting over hints the company may have to cut the beloved green gunk from its menu due to global warming. Buried in the companys 10-K filing from early February, under the risks to business heading, the company had this to say:
Increasing weather volatility or other long-term changes in global weather patterns, including any changes associated with global climate change, could have a significant impact on the price or availability of some of our ingredients, said Chipotle CMG .
Thats the buildup. The clincher came when Chipotle said if prices go up for crucial ingredients, it could mean an adverse hit on operation results. And then
Alternatively, in the event of cost increases with respect to one or more of our raw ingredients, we may choose to temporarily suspend serving menu items, such as guacamole or one or more of our salsas, rather than paying the increased cost for the ingredients.

This article forces Chipotle of my menu.
These nitwits just got crossed off of my “places to eat” list.
Anybody that is stupid enough to announce that they buy into the “global warming/climate change” FRAUD is telling me that they are too stupid to do business with, no matter the scale or degree.
What a crock of crap.
Weather issues have been a part of ANY business involved with food since the beginning of time.......
Never eaten there and have no desire to do so.
What total BS. They are just setting the stage for price increases. Guess I won’t eat there any longer.
UPDATE: CHIPOTLE Walks Back ‘Global Warming’ Guacpocalypse Alarm...
Chipotle’s Chris Arnold told the L.A. Times on Wednesday morning that the disclosure was routine: “As a public company ... we are required to disclose any potential issues that could have potential impact on our business, and we do that very thoroughly.”
So far, Chipotle is handling weather-related problems with ingredients just fine.
As NPR points out, avocados seem to be in plentiful supply despite vagaries of climate change that resulted in “lemon-sized” Hass avocados.
“The sky is not falling,” Arnold said. “We have guac in all of our restaurants.”
“Our solution to rising ingredients cost is to eliminate food from our menus. We beleive that we will maintain current revenues with a new focus on serving bowls of freshly prepared steam.”
First of all, when I order I would say hold the guacamole. Second, with global warming being dormant for 17 years, this is a stupid statement. Third, if I want a product I buy it although I may go out of my way to eat at Chick-fil-a and buy from Hobby Lobby.
Cant Øbama do something about his?
Is that gluten free steam? Is it locally sourced?
I like their tacos - I’m going to pretend they’re not a bunch of liberal elites...
I'm on the Texas Gulf Coast and even though it was cold this winter I covered the trees with a couple of quilts and some plastic over that and plugged in a couple of drop lights to keep them warm.
We actually had winter this year and I am sooooo ready for it to be over. Can't imagine what it has been like for you folks up north!
Believe me, if you boycott every restaurant and retail store that is targeted on FR, you’ll have no place to go.
The other story is about the gold coins unearthed by the California couple. Most media sources stated or implied the coins were stolen, when in fact the U.S. Mint had stated the opposite.
Because they believe in global warming, their judgement is impaired. I will never eat there again.
They should get the genetically enhanced avocados that are resistant to man made global climate change.
Wait! Would that piss off two sensitive radical groups?
“How are things with guacamoleeeee, is the salsa worth it’s weight in golllld” sung by a little leprechaun with a sombrero....From the movie: “Finians Tex Mex”
(with a nod to “Finians Rainbow”...thanks...thanks I’ll be here all week!”
“They put way too much onion in the stuff anyway.”
There is no such thing as too much onion. Or garlic for that matter.
I sent them an e-mail have not got a reply yet Ate at the first one by DU in Denver the guy is a real greene.organic foods..would have made a lot of money if I had bought the stock at the IPO food is pretty good..
