Kiev agitators 'trained in Poland' claims Putin

President Putin claimed on Tuesday that "well prepared" and organized protesters in Kiev who brought down the Yanukovych regime were "trained in Poland and Lithuania".

In his first in-depth comments since the Russian parliament gave the green light for military action in Ukraine on Saturday, Vladimir Putin told a press conference in Moscow, "look how well they were prepared."

"They underwent preparation in bases in Lithuanian and Polish border areas, and [of course] in Ukraine itself. Their instructors were ready for a lengthy time, you saw how they were prepared, like special forces, they were even divided up into squads," Putin told journalists.

On Saturday, the vice-president of the Russian Federation Council claimed that "gunmen who took over power in Kiev were trained in Poland and Lithuania".

The Polish defence ministry categorically denied the accusations on Tuesday.

A confident looking Russian president said today that, "there can be only one assessment of what happened in Kiev, in Ukraine in general. This was an anti-constitutional coup and the armed seizure of power. No one argues with this," he said.

Putin said Russia reserved the right to use all options in Ukraine to protect compatriots living in "terror" but that Moscow would use force only as a last resort.

"As for bringing in forces. For now there is no such need but such a possibility exists," he said. "What could serve as a reason to use military force? It would naturally be the last resort, absolutely the last."

I don't think partitioning Poland, per se, would be helpful to Russia OR Germany.

I DO think that Poland could facilitate the partition of Ukraine by taking back Lwow (Lemberg), and if Poland did so, some desire for return to the fatherland might appear in unexpected areas of what is now Poland.

We are very bad at the long game. It may yet be our downfall.

Those agitators need to offer Russia the chance to leave before they blow up pipe lines.

Hello, Marguerite,

There you go again....messing up propaganda with those nasty little facts.

I'd find it hard to believe that the US weren't involved. We have been everywhere else that a "popular uprising" became a sophisticated military operation.

This trend of using uprisings to install new governments is not proving to be beneficial for the continued existance of civilization.

Exactly what I was thinking. If the Kremlin mysteriously catches fire, we’ll know history is about to repeat itself.

It’s not like it’s some organized thing. Putin’s government puts all kinds of stuff out there. Some people, Jewish or not, pick it up and spread it. Other people, whatever their religion or ethnicity don’t.

Pooty poot poot actually claimed today that there are NO Russian Forces, in the Ukraine.

The fact that the Russian troops are not wearing insignia makes them unlawful combatants and, as such, do not receive the full protections of the Third Geneva Convention.

I don’t care about the antisemitic ukrainians. They can all go to hell.

There were 2.25 million Jews living in Ukraine before the WWII. Most died in situ, rounded up, shot and buried in woods and ravines outside their own home towns. Others were sent to the gas chambers at Belzec — just over the present-day border with Poland. There are only 50,000 Jews left in Ukraine.

Stepan Bandera, the “hero” of the Ukrainians neo-nazis, who overthew the elected president in Kiev, explicitly declared war on Ukrainian Jewry in 1939. He and his goons organized mass pogroms and killed thousands of Jews. May he rot in hell and may his name be damned for eternity.

To see now the American Secretary of State shaking hands with a Banderist named “minister of internal security” in the puppet gov. in Kiev, makes my blood boil.

I was wondering when/if Putin would make some comment about Poland. Now, we have him claiming that both Poland and Lithuania were somehow involved in the unrest in the Ukraine. Things are becoming more tense.

Your right, perhaps there is no religious penchant for spreading the propaganda, I ultimately have no clue the religion of the posters spreading the propaganda. But links posted the last few days seem to heavily come from sites that claim to be Jewish. I do not mean to bring religion into the debate, my apologies to any I offended.

Putin has ambitions that reach beyond Ukraine. Seeing the weak kneed response to the Crimea invasion from the West, why not!

I said to my church friends that I’m very worried about Poland. Came close to moving there in the 90’s. Lovely people and country.

So it’s not merely Russian propaganda, after all. The Russians are also backed up by Alex Jones, surprise surprise. (not)

You copied and pasted that Ukrainian Nazi stuff from the 9/11 truther site infowars.com. You should know that most of the stuff on that site is conspiracy bilge.

Don’t tell me you look to Infowars and Russia Today as your main sources of news.
