Kiev agitators 'trained in Poland' claims Putin
The News (Poland) ^ | 4 March 2014

President Putin claimed on Tuesday that "well prepared" and organized protesters in Kiev who brought down the Yanukovych regime were "trained in Poland and Lithuania".

In his first in-depth comments since the Russian parliament gave the green light for military action in Ukraine on Saturday, Vladimir Putin told a press conference in Moscow, "look how well they were prepared."

"They underwent preparation in bases in Lithuanian and Polish border areas, and [of course] in Ukraine itself. Their instructors were ready for a lengthy time, you saw how they were prepared, like special forces, they were even divided up into squads," Putin told journalists.

On Saturday, the vice-president of the Russian Federation Council claimed that "gunmen who took over power in Kiev were trained in Poland and Lithuania".

The Polish defence ministry categorically denied the accusations on Tuesday.

A confident looking Russian president said today that, "there can be only one assessment of what happened in Kiev, in Ukraine in general. This was an anti-constitutional coup and the armed seizure of power. No one argues with this," he said.

Putin said Russia reserved the right to use all options in Ukraine to protect compatriots living in "terror" but that Moscow would use force only as a last resort.

"As for bringing in forces. For now there is no such need but such a possibility exists," he said. "What could serve as a reason to use military force? It would naturally be the last resort, absolutely the last."

They underwent preparation in bases in Lithuanian and Polish border areas, and [of course] in Ukraine itself.

What is in the least difficult to believe about this?

The "protesters" did appear to be amazingly well-organized, and they probably were trained somewhere by somebody. Or some of them, at least.

That Putin is a Bad Man doesn't mean everything he says is untrue.

A great deal of Hitler's justifications for his actions were true, just mixed with lies and intended to deceive.

Putin really going back to Russian history claiming Poland and Lithuania are involved. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was a major enemy of Russia and they actually took Moscow during what are called the Time of Troubles before the establishment of the Romanov Dynasty.

I almost hope he'll try something: the entire Polish nation would rise en masse.

He'd quickly run out of army trying to occupy Poland.

Pooty poot poot actually claimed today that there are NO Russian Forces, in the Ukraine. His burning ambition to be reestablish the Russian Empire and become it’s next Czar, has given him Grandiose delusional disorder. Merkel, in the land of Sigmund Freud, has diagnosed Putin correctly.

Sure sounds like it. But I have Polish relatives, and Poland will not roll over for the Ruskies. Putin knows that, and is more likely trying for the Finlandization of Poland, or pulling Poland into a Russian alliance.

February 5 2014 - Ukraine: Neo-Nazi Militia Leader Threatens ‘Civil War’

... a gaggle of disparate fascist and ultra-nationalist factions have managed to take advantage of the chaos and popular anger against the government, stoked further over the deaths of several opposition activists. They may be relatively small in number but are well organized, determined and, it appears, well-armed.

On Tuesday, in an exclusive interview with TIME World, the leader of the largest coalition of far-right paramilitary factions threatened his forces were preparing for an all-out civil war.

Dmitro Yarosh, the leader of (neo-nazi) Pravy Sektor (Right Sector), revealed in his first interview with the foreign press that his men had amassed an arsenal of deadly weapons and were prepared to “to defend all of Ukraine” from the government, whom he refers to as “the internal occupiers”.

pulling Poland into a Russian alliance

LOL-- they'd sooner line up on the streets of Warsaw, drop their pants, and wave their hind parts at the Russian embassy.

The Poles react viscerally to both German and Russian pressure, but they have some admiration for German cultural and economic achievements.

The Russians they regard as little more than white Mongol barbarians.

There is a lot of historic (ancient history) bad blood between Poland and Russia and Lithuania and Russia.

What is interesting is how historic enemies are being dusted off by Putin and used for modern propaganda. Kind of like Hitler blaming everything bad on the “Jews.”

A Paul Harvey (the rest of the story) part of this story on Putin vs Poland & Lithuania is not well reported in the media. It explains why the Polish government wanted assurances from NATO and the US over military support if attacked.

Russia in addition to massing troops near the Ukraine also held military exercises near the Polish and Lithuanian boarder to send a message to those countries as well. Poland heard the message loud and clear and is asking NATO to make clear how it will protect Poland should it be attacked. The focus of Putin on agitators trained in Poland and Lithuania along with the military exercises on their borders is a clear message that the Russian bear wants a compliant submissive neighbor.

“merely russian propaganda”

Nope!

Back in December 2013, at the time Victoria Nuland announced that the United States had invested $5 billion dollars to help Ukrainians achieve a new form of government, Senator John McCain met with national-socialist (nazi) Svoboda Party leader Oleh Tyahnybok, sharing the stage with him at an event during which McCain gave the United States’ blessing for the opposition revolt.

As recently as three weeks ago, Nuland met with both Tyahnybok and Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who is now Ukraine’s putschist Prime Minister. In a leaked phone conversation, Nuland was caught red-handed scheming to install Yatsenyuk in the government before President Viktor Yanukovych had even left Kiev!

Despite Svoboda’s neo-nazi connections, the party has been handed key positions in the newly formed government. These posts include the deputy prime minister and the heads of the agriculture and environmental ministries. In addition to these positions, a Svoboda lawmaker was appointed the new prosecutor general in the interim government!

The Nazi’s treated the Ukrainians horribly, sold Hundreds of thousands of them into slavery. You do realize that right?

Not really.

These agitators, weather real or imagined, come from countries that were once part of the Soviet Union.

Another excuse to invade them when the time is ripe.

Get worried when he claims that the agitators come from Washington DC.
