Who Else Besides Hillary Clinton in 2016?
New York Times ^ | 03/03/2013 | Albert Hunt

WASHINGTON — If Hillary Rodham Clinton doesn’t run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 — and there’s one chance in five of that — the party could have a nervous breakdown.

On the national level, the Democratic bench is weaker, or more overshadowed, than at any time in the past several decades. There are several reasons. The election disaster in 2010 wiped out many possibilities, especially at the gubernatorial level. More important, with two heavyweight camps — President Obama and the Clintons — there is no political oxygen for anyone else.

Suppose, for example, that upon taking over as secretary of state, Mrs. Clinton had declared that she wouldn’t run for elective office again. The field might look much different today.

For one, several ambitious female Democrats might be dipping their toes in the presidential waters: for example, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota or Kirsten E. Gillibrand of New York. Now, the Democratic political sisterhood is completely vested in Hillary Clinton.

This sense that America is overdue to elect a woman is powerful and extends even beyond its borders.

“I’m optimistic I’ll live to see a female president of the United States,” Julia Gillard, the former Australian prime minister, said in an interview last week.

If Mrs. Clinton doesn’t run, the focus will be on Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who is 71 and personally popular with Democrats. But his two previous presidential runs crashed, and in 2016, he would be older than Ronald Reagan was when he was re-elected in 1984.

Maybe Hillary will do all her campaigning via SKYPE with ole BJ and Chels doing all the road trips? I’m sure the MSM would tell us how great it was that she was conserving airplane fuel.

They said of Pope Mario the Pious Cuomo in 1984 that he was too urban, too liberal, too ethnic & too northeastern.

Cuomo knew this & didn’t push for the nomination. He gave the Dem keynote speech, hinted he’d like President Mondale to appoint him to the Supreme Court & that was about it.

Mario wasn’t know as “Hamlet on the Hudson” for nothing. Never mind his Vader-like arrogance, which his son has inherited in spades & who will have fun selling his gungrabbing stance to all the flyover bitter clingers.

Al Hunt, meanwhile, still has a h***on for Hillary that hasn’t gone down since ‘92. Pitiful & wrinkled, like she is.

“America doesn’t really need the significance of someone with a Vagina being elected President. We have already broached that glass ceiling with Obama.”

Well said, and unfortunately true.

If I were a Democrat and running their show I’d put forward an “articulate” black or Hispanic person every election moving forward. This garners them a large turnout that they never will see with a Caucasoid, excepting if that Caucasoid were a homosexual.

They may not have a choice. I get the feeling Obama’s peeps now feel the Dem nomination is their personal property, and they aren’t gonna give it up without a fight.

Fauxcahontas, Elizabeth Warren.............................. Yup, a winner, 1st Woman and 1st indigenous native American Indian. That’s what the elections are all about these days, make a first! No experience necessary , we will make you an OJT President regardless. If you are a Republican Woman, you are Taboo, the Press will crush you as soon as you mention you are running, even though you have had more experience in Government than any of the Democrat Candidates. Any minority with a Republican title WILL BE CRUSHED at the starting gate. Welcome to the Topsy Turvy America, where now voter ignorance is bliss and votes are bought.

"Hillary Clinton has not achieved anything on her own."

I hope she recognizes this and not become one of these harping she broke the glass ceiling, wants to prove she's a war time President and represent woman's rights.

The Democrats will run whoever they think can win. If they think that’s Hillary, they’ll run her even if they have to put a brace on her to stand her up. Obama won with a sympathy vote and the Democrats know that. Look for a “Poor Hillary” campaign including that she was divorced by her wayward husband.

Democrats don't have a problem.

They'll find someone who's a member in good standing of one of their protected 'victim groups' and they'll declare anyone who objects is a 1. homophone, 2. sexist 3. xenophobe 4. racist etc.

The New York Times will buy this story (because they're biased and all their sources are democrats) - and they'll heap praise upon THE ONE. So it really doesn't matter. The only qualifications are - can you fool the press (YES if you're a dem) and two - can you call people names if they won't vote for you.

That's easy - and it sums it up. I'm stunned the Times reporter can ask this question with a straight face..

Must be nice to be the teacher's pet - and full fledged member of the stupid party with delusions of grandeur...

"I possess the number one priority of creating harmony and fruitful government, identity politics; where the populace vote for their self-interests due to the pigment color of their skin, have a grasp of female concerns because of radical pro-abortion and pro-infanticide beliefs, and understand the need, thus promote the right for individuals to put their genitals into anything to create climaxes despite what my Roman Catholic faith says. I am one of everyone and my signature phrase of "Que dios te bendiga" proves that. Plus the propaganda masters in the media really, really, like me."

I’ve been saying for quite a while that I don’t think Hillary! will run. And, I’ve been saying that it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Jerry Brown (Dim-CA, aka Gov Moonbeam) throws his hat in the ring. He was on Meet the Depressed yesterday and DNC Dave was asking him about having a surplus, yada yada yada. Brown *almost* sounded moderate in his responses, such as watching spending, etc.

My view is that the Dems found with the election of Obama that qualifications, experience and even personal attractiveness were not really necessary after all: the only thing that matters is being a celebrity. Obama was the Kardashian of the political world, a nobody whom they successfully sold simply through massive publicity. Voters didn’t even ask what he had ever done, what his ideas were, or anything about his background because it wasn’t necessary. He was a celebrity and, on top of that, a black celebrity.

So I think it not at all unlikely that Michelle Obama will be the Dem candidate. Or, if they can get the celebrity machine going fast enough, it could be Chelsea Clinton.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

That is the other definition of what I was saying. What you call “celebrity” I call “ability to enrage conservatives”. Sadly, they have become one and the same. People now become most famous more quickly by being, at its heart, anti-Christian.
