What If Hillary Clinton Doesn't Run?
NPR ^ | February 07, 2014 | Frank James

Posted on 02/08/2014 6:08:21 AM PST by kingattax

The groundwork being laid for a Hillary Clinton presidential run in 2016 overlooks a single, almost unthinkable scenario: What if she doesn't run?

After all, while that might sound like heresy to the various Democratic groups now raising money, locking down political talent and generally acting as a campaign-in-waiting on her behalf, it's not certain she will run.

A year can be a long time in politics. By the time Clinton would have to make her intentions known late this year or early next, she may decide to go from "inevitable" to "never mind" for personal reasons, despite the immense pressures to run.

A "no" from Clinton would leave a vacuum that would be hard to fill.

"I think the first thing is, if she decides not to run, there'll be a whole bunch of people who will be unemployed," said Iowa Democratic Party chairman Scott Brennan, who attended a recent Ready for Hillary event in Des Moines organized by some of those very same people.

She wasn’t up to answering for Benghazi and had some sort of breakdown , hid out behind a medical veil for months. Either the pressure broke her physical health, mental health or she just crawled up in a corner and sucked her thumb. She’s less formidable than they pretend. Waving OMalice around on a stick like he’ll be viable is fantasy also. His one answer to everything is to raise taxes; his state exchange on Obamacare has been so disastrous that the person running it suddenly had a case of “I’ve gotta run home and take care of something really important,” and he has his own little Abu Ghraib to answer for with the Baltimore City jail. It would be great, as he used the line on national TV at least twice that I’ve seen, “Scott Walker hasn’t been indicted...yet,” to see Mr Walker turn it around and say, “but OMalice has.”

The more important question is “what if Bill Clinton dies?” ...To discuss her candidacy and not consider a dead Bill is foolish

Bill!?

Hell, he looks far more vibrant and lively than that bloated bitch.

President Obama is making the same mistake as President Bush. He hasn’t groomed a successor. The Democrats have Hillary. No one else, including Biden, is even on the radar. Hillary, of course, will run. It’s not like the Democrats actually like her. I think many leaders don’t, but they have no one else.

If she chooses to not run it’s because she doesn’t have the balls.

"My party's the one that always likes franchise candidates," said Patrick Griffin, a Republican political strategist and partner at Purple Strategies New England. "We like our Doles, we like our Bushes, we like our McCains. We like our Romneys. What we do is we pick the guy whose turn it is. We beat him up for two years, and then we nominate him.

What do you mean "we," Patrick?

Sarah is too smart for third party nonsense.
A threat, maybe, but she won’t do it.

I still have doubts Hillary may run. But, even if she does, she has no guarantee. A funny thing happened on her way to her last coronation.

There are factions in the Dem Party that are anti-Clintons.

There have been some questions recently regarding her health.

==

Dems haven’t run an old wrinkled nominee since Kerry in 2004, and he lost. The two youthfuls — 1992 and 2008 — won.

Some more youthful Dems have been making noise and hinting.

==

The MSM are pushing Hillary, just like they did early in 2008, of course. But, if another nominee seems to take the lead, they will jump on that bandwagon, just like they did in 2008. Of course, the MSM could prefer a female nominee.

She’s already running...unofficially. She’s had the remake, and now she’s trying to look presidential. It’s all about the public persona.

I don’t think her health is good enough to withstand it - Bill’s, either. I don’t think she’ll run.

But she and Slick are perfectly delighted to position themselves as “king makers”. They’d like nothing better than to wrest control of the party apparatchik from the Obama wing. There’s bad blood there going back to 2008.

Her health is lousy and her doctors have recommended low stress.

Switch from 100 proof to 80 proof.

Run or not, she should be arrested, interrogated, tried and (if convicted) sentenced to prison. She has committed many crimes.

hillary has looked very haggard for a long time

Yeah. Running at her age could be a very bad idea. She could go McCain-crazy if she gets overwhelmed.

I say that as an age acompatible woman. People age differently. hillary seems to have maxed out back in the US Senate, where she had a few good years.

Any doctor of Hilary! is on the pre-campaign staff, either in the DD (Disinformation Department) or in STSD (Setting the Stage Department).

No one else, including Biden, is even on the radar.

No one was as she steamed toward the 2008 nomination, until some upstart 2-year Senator announced. And the rest is history.

“I hope Biden/Pelosi do run.”

If Biden/Pelosi run against a Republican ticket headed by Jeb Bush the Dems will win. The people of the US are not going to elect a third Bush given the first two were mediocre.

I don’t believe Biden will choose Pelosi as a running mate if he gets the nomination. It is more likely to be Elizabeth Warren to get the young white female vote. White females will be the swing voting bloc in 2016, just as they were in 2008 and 2012.

“what if Bill Clinton dies?”

Her true soulmates waiting in the wings hoping to be chosen: Jarrett, Huma... or, perhaps lust will win out instead of ideology: Christina Aguilera.

And it time for the men of this country to sit down with their women and review why it is important to not vote for the Marxist Dems that are ruining their country and their families and their future.

I don’t understand why Manchin hasn’t switched party’s by now. If the republicans win the majority this fall, I will bet he will think hard about it.
