Metallica - Trapped Under Ice
I don't know how to live trough this hell Woken up, I'm still locked in this shell Frozen soul, frozen down to the core Break the ice, I can't take anymore
Freezing Can't move at all Screaming Can't hear my call I am dying to live Cry out I'm trapped under ice
Crystallized, as I lay here and rest Eyes of glass stare directly at death From deep sleep I have broken away No one knows, no one hears what I say
Freezing Can't move at all Screaming Can't hear my call I am dying to live Cry out I'm trapped under ice
Scream from my soul Fate, mystified Hell, forever more No release from my cryonic state What is this? I've been stricken by fate Wrapped up tight, cannot move, can't break free Hand of doom has a tight grip on me
Freezing Can't move at all Screaming Can't hear my call I am dying to live Cry out I'm trapped under ice

Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal
I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the pack, All swallowed in their coats With scarves of red tied 'round their throats To keep their little heads From fallin' in the snow And I turned 'round and there you go. And Michael you would fall, And turn the white snow Red as strawberries in the summertime.
I was following the pack, All swallowed in their coats With scarves of red tied 'round their throats To keep their little heads From fallin' in the snow And I turned 'round and there you go. And Michael you would fall, And turn the white snow Red as strawberries in the summertime.
I was following the pack, All swallowed in their coats With scarves of red tied 'round their throats To keep their little heads From fallin' in the snow And I turned 'round and there you go. And Micheal you would fall, And turn the white snow Red as strawberries in the summertime....

I know that bluebonnets are pretty but I like much better a field of a combination of bluebonnets and Indian paint brushes. ;-)

I like Snowbound by Donald Fagan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBKD3IWEAhg
It was the first song my dog learned to sing to.
I used to try to get him to howl when this part came around...
Snowbound
Let’s sleep in today
Wake me up
When the wolves come out to play
Heat up
These white nights
We’re gonna turn this town
Into a city of lights
He would look at me seemingly without comprehension.
Then one day out of the blue he began to howl along.
It brought such joy to my heart
and a thankfulness to God for the wonderful gift
he had given me by bringing my dog into my life.

Finbar & Eddie Furey - "Sweet Carron Lough Bay" (Click)
"Winter was brawling the high hills and mountains And dark were the clouds o'er the deep rolling sea I met a wee lass as the daylight was dawning She was asking the road to sweet Carron Lough Bay.
Says I "Me wee lassie, I canna well tell you Oh how many miles and how far it might be But if you'll consent I'll convey you a wee bit And I'll show you the road to sweet Carron Lough Bay.
Just turn to the right and go down by the churchyard Cross over the river and down by the sea We'll stop at Pat Hamill's and have a wee drop there And I'll show you the road to sweet Carron Lough Bay.
Here's a health to Pat Hamill, likewise the wee lassie And every laddie that's listening to me And ne'er turn your back on a bonnie sweet lassie When she's asking the road to sweet Carron Lough Bay.
Please let me know by Freepmail if you would like to be admitted to or released from my music ping list.

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Indeed! I have the dates and the venues, and now it is just a matter of rehearsing the kids, printing up the programs and awards, and collecting the fees (to reimburse me for the rentals)
Asking for money is hard for me, even though it really shouldn’t be.

I am sallying forth from the office. Back in a bit.

During the Great Depression, music lessons were often paid for by barter. The lady who taught piano would get pork chops or a live chicken as payment.

Mine is really “a hazy shade of winter” both the original by Simon & Garfinkle and the cover version by The Bangles.
I remember one icy, awful Jersey winter morning, when the new version was a hit, and I said “I’m not leaving the house until I hear that song”, but good old WDHA played it bright and early, so I got to work on time!

My students sometimes give me food.
Which is a good thing, because sometimes my fridge is empty.

Motorhead’s “Out of the Sun”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9YRhKcLJK8
The wind is cold where I live, the blizzard is my home
Snow and ice and loaded dice, the Wizard lives alone
The wind is cold where I live, white and cold and clean
White and cold and bought and sold and heartbreak in between
And so we shall see what is done and done and done
Trees are stone where I live, leaves of razor steel
High and low and ice and snow, broken on the wheel
Trees are stone where I live, flowers made of glass
Cold and white and wrong and right and voices from the past
And all our yesterdays are now undone, out of the sun
Frozen and insane, I alone remain
held in the vice of my disdain
There is now way that anyone will ever make me warm again
Life is death where I live, frozen grin my smile
Sun is moon and out of tune, broken strings and bile
Death is life where I live, hearts turned into stone
Frozen breath, and froze death and prisons made of bone
And so we shall see what becomes become, out of the sun

There is one from the Hillman in the morning show on 107.3 WAAF in Boston that I remember
Snow plows plow, are ya listnen?
In da street, black ice glistnen.
A horrible sight, I’m pissed off tonight,
I’m sick of f’n winter in New England!
Freezing rain, sleet and hail,
Slide off da road and hit a guard rail.
Ya shovel n stack, an’ throw out ya back.
I’m sick of f’n winter in New England!
In da mornin I will scrape my car off,
To spend da day in line for milk an’ bread.
Then I gotta find a place to park it,
That ain’t reserved with chairs by f’n jerks.
Later on a storm’s upon us,
As da roof collapses on us.
Everything’s white, I’m fed up tonight,
I’m sick of f’n winter in New England!

You shouldn’t have to bare the brunt of the costs.
Glad you have everything all lined out.
