Maybe what we are witnessing with Christie is what early American novelists would write about: what happens after someone makes a deal with the devil -—

hugging Obama days before the 2012 election =

Ryan and Cantor are pushing amnesty along with the Zuckerberg commercials that are now running.

I felt very smug that we Americans used our loyalty for a sport rather than civic disrest.

Well sports is a subterfuge. America was founded on a revolution against tyranny, and now we have major corruption in the face of widespread apathy and class warfare (another ruse).

If we don't get some reactionary citizen pushback soon, we will be seeing some serious "civic disrest" or outright civil war.

“Ryan and Cantor are pushing amnesty”

A sure fire way to become a permanent minority.

I am a bit conflicted and confused.

This week, I have seen threads on FR that for 2016, where Romney is the frontrunner, Huckabee is the frontrunner, Palin is the frontrunner.

It is already a loooooooooooong presidential cycle for 2016. How soon before we start seeing the hourly polls like we did in 2012?

“How soon before we start seeing the hourly polls like we did in 2012?”

Ten minutes after the end of the Super Bowl.

I absolutely believe Stephanopolous and cohorts talked about this on the phone many times. They knew that Clinton’s popularity numbers went UP during impeachment, and the media was able to spin it as all about sex and those greedy, puritanical Republicans wanting to just “get” Bill Clinton because they’re partisan bastards and hypocrite fundamentalists.

So they “hope” the Republicans take the bait, imagining how they could spin it as racist, too.

I’m sure they chuckle and high-five whenever they get together about Georgie’s birth control question to Mitt Romney and fervently hope they can start something again.

NEVER answer a Stephanopolous question without first thinking about just what he’s up to and what conversations he’s had with his friends.

Frankly, if I was a conservative Republican I would NEVER go on ABCCBSNBC, but that’s just me. Some think there is no such thing as bad publicity, but I wonder about that. Someone needs to starve the snake.

TW Roundtable on Marijuan — Colorado, etc.

Female: We need regulation, regulations, more regulations!

Doctor: Was against, but has 2 teen sons, and doesn’t think it is that bad any more.

Another expert: Downtown Denver now smells differently than it did pre-law. Now, it smells like Boulder.

Steffie: Wish we had more time on the topic.

Ryan says they want border security first...no amnesty.

Ryan is lyin'. I haven't watched the interview yet, but previously he said that the Gang of 8 bill isn't an amnesty. An out and out lie. Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here is amnesty--citizenship is just the cherry on top.

The border security first is also a scam. Ryan wants to issue "probationary" legalization to the 12 to 20 million lawbreakers. This essentially stops all enforcement and deportations except for some egregious criminal aliens. Those receiving "probationary" status would be allowed to work, get SSN's, etc. This is the equivalent of the Z visa proposed in the McCain-Kennedy 2007 amnesty bill, which McCain said, like Ryan, that it was not an amnesty because the lawbreakers would have to pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line.

Cantor is getting ready to propose the GOP version of the Dream Act.

I used to think Cantor was OK. Now he makes me cringe listening to him. On top of that IMHO he has a monotone voice.

I really wish that the GOP congress critters would replace those currently in the leadership positions. Gohmert, Cruz, Lee, Scott, Marsha Blackburn, etc. We have some very good conservatives in the House and Senate that are very articulate and nice looking (don’t mean to be petty or quote Biden, but as you all know, some people vote on “looks”). McCain and Mitch have a face for radio, while the ones I mentioned above have TV faces.

Most people in Europe do not live in American style housing. They have less personal space and a lower standard of living. Smaller houses, smaller cars, higher taxes, etc.

Rush Limbaugh made a declaration early this week: If the House votes for amnesty, the Republicans will lose the House. But they don’t seem to care.

I have posted many times that the result of the Clinton impeachment was job losses — for 2 Republicans: The Speaker and the Replacement Speaker.

It seems that every time the Republicans try to mount a major attack on a major Democrat, one or more Republicans end up resigning.

Ryan is going to try to scam through amnesty. If that doesn’t work immigration will devolve into another attack on conservatives. “We really wanted amnesty but those nasty teabaggers wouldn’t let us.” We will get from both sides again: the Dems and the RINOs.

We are being set up right now with that principles paper and the kenyan saying he agreed with it. That much is clear to me.

I don’t know what’s going on in Jamaica these days, but our political parties have turned into the seriously opposing divisions that Jamaicans knew back then. It is so unhealthy.

Unhealthy? We have some very profound political differences that will lead us in different directions. We are either going to down the road to destruction by expanding the welfare state and the role of government in our lives, which will bankrupt the country and eviscerate the Constitution or we can return to limited government, a contraction of the welfare state, protection of individual liberties, and a return to the vision of our Founders.

There is little to compromise among these two views. The left wants to transform the country while we want to restore the idea of American exceptionalism. This is a life and death struggle.

Morning AB, All....sang at the 8:30 am mass...now home.

Watching Meet the Depressed on DVR....all about Chris Christie. Does it ever stop?

Although the fat thug deserves what Hillary reaps upon him, it is overkill. No Benghazi, IRS...nothing but a couple of lanes on a bridge...sheesh.

Thank you AB for doing this thread as always....up to 50deg on my way home per the Jeep.

Life’s getting warmer.

House vote on Immigration: I think all indications are now that it's simply not going to happen. There is a quiet rebellion brewing, aided and abetted by folks like you and me. Now is the time for those of us who write on this board to also write your senators and representatives.

A lot of pressure is being applied by both sides. Conservatives need to keep the pressure on, and let their Chamber of Commerces know they are fuming at their betrayal (and call it just that, a betrayal of conservative economic values).

Find your Representative/Senator (to write them).

Contact page to US Chamber of Commerce (also links to your local Chamber).
